The era that started it all, and the era that largely predated the huge influx of Sweet-related activity. Dingster and I have had the honour of putting together this team with 20 of the best of those who shaped the league in early years. It's certainly not exhaustive - in many cases, there were coin toss selections that could have gone any number of ways (heads or tails!). But I digress - let's get the selections underway!
Selection #1: Mobbs
Our first selection is perhaps the most obvious of them all: creator of the league, and self-appointed namesake of the Mobbs Medal, Mobbs.
After running the league as an impartial administrator in Season 1, Mobbs joined the Hurricanes in Season 2, and then the Roys in Season 3. Mobbs has now played almost 600 games and won almost six premierships. Four clubs (also the Mod Squad and, most recently, the Ophidian Old Boys) have enjoyed Mobbs' playing contributions.
The clearest of all Hall of Fame Immortals for so many reasons, Mobbs' contributions to this place and community will never be forgotten.

Selection #2: Tarkyn_24
With our second selection we pick Tarkyn_24. Tarks entered the world of Sweet in S7 and in his early seasons he was more known as a ruck than a full forward. However that didn't last long and by S12 Tarks started kicking goals for fun with his career best 97 goals in S16 and is Sweet #1 with 1041 goals.
Tarks accolades are numerous - 7 All SFA, 4 premierships, 3 Fred, 2 teflua-tiger and 1 Frankstpn Rover. Tarks joined the HoF in S16 and became an Immortal in S34. With all this Tarks is engaged as ever with his posting, esp with his love/hate relationship with sausageroll. The Demons wheel out Tarks for his 552nd game on Sunday. *assumes selection

With the third selection, we have one of the league's greatest ever contributors - and, coincidentally, the all-time games record-holder.
Ljp86 is closing in on 600 games, and should become the first to reach that milestone. With more than 500 of those alongside Pie 4 Life - remarkable in itself - this Dragon will be tough to get past.
Ljp86 is a 7-time All-Sweet FA representative, 3x Frankston Rover Medallist, 2x Mobbs Medallist, and a Hall of Fame Immortal. Ljp86 blessed us with tireless stats and ladders work for very many seasons. We really couldn't ask for much more!

With pick 4 we select EKA eagleskickass. EKA is indeed the player the rookie award is named after and sausageroll aspires to achieve. He debuted in S1 and went on to play 294 games winning 3 premierships and joined the HoF in S13.
EKA took over the admin role in S2 when Sweet nearly collapsed and steadied the ship over the following two seasons and was a key driver encouraging recruitment and the growth of Sweet.
On his HoF induction he was asked and answered...
How did you learn about, and get attracted to, the Sweet FA?
As someone who has been around since the beginning, this really stretches the memory! Back in 2001 there were far fewer people and I actually think I heard about the SFA on Bigfooty chat!

okeydoke7 has kicked more than 1,000 goals in this league. Let that sink in. More than 1,000.
But okey will be the first (and the second, and the third) to tell you that their biggest impact on the league has actually come off the field, revolutionising media and granting licences to two new clubs.
A five-time All-Sweet FA representative and previous administrator, okeydoke7 is one of Sweet's greatest ever characters.
okey's 1,000+ goals is not quite Tarkyn_24 level, of course, but is still very good and commendable. As such, okeydoke7 has been selected in the most appropriate position for the not-quite-best-ever-full-forward, but that position REMAINS TO BE SEEN. Well done, okey.
