Twenty-one year old Ryan Houlihan has shown he is "True Blue" by re-committing to the Carlton Football Club. Houlihan and Carlton today agreed to terms that will ensure Houlihan continues his playing future at Carlton.
"I am pleased everything has been finalised and am looking forward to continuing my career with Carlton. There is a real excitement about the Club at present and it will be great to be a part of the re-building of the Carlton team," Houlihan said.
"Naturally it is great news for the Club and it is a credit to Ryan the way he has worked through the issues when deciding his future. He is still very young and will continue to develop as a player and having played 76 games will provide valuable experience to our young playing list," said Colin Kinnear, Carlton's General Manager - Football.
Selected by Carlton in the 1999 National Draft, Houlihan made his debut in 2000 and has played 76 games for Carlton, including all 22 in 2003. An elusive forward, Ryan has kicked 67 goals, and in 2003 he also played in defence and in the midfield.
