Are you serious? Goldspink reported it and that but he was deffinately trying to mark the ball except that he ended up kneeing into Goodes back.

Neitz didnt event lift his hands up to mark...

Agreed. When i saw it that was what i was thinking and i was sure he would get a week.

Can;'t say i expected him to get a week off the quass. he had his eyes for the ball and goodes was sort of the meat in the middle of the sandwich so to speak. In earnest, just a let off

How can you be attempting a mark if your hands aren't even in the air?

Memo to all AFL thugs: If you want to punch, bite, kick, knee, scratch, spit on, or rape another player...just make sure you're looking at the ball when you do it. Then everything's fair game.

I'm glad he did, that was a pathetic dive by Goodes.

Didn't know what hit him but he was sure playing for the free kick and sold Goldspank right into it.

i'd love to see it happen it you and then see your reaction tough guy

considering goodes had mark the ball well before neitz kneed him in the back im surprised he didnt get a week/weeks for it. Had plenty of time to bring the knees down but kept it up there and planted it straight into his back. He didnt even put his hands up.

If you look at it this way: if Neitz was going in for the mark there's nothing there, but if he wasn't going for the mark it looks pretty bad. Not surprising no susp. was handed out.

you can use your knees when you leap...thats bad luck for the bloke in front but it shouldnt have been a report at all

You've got to at least _attempt_ to mark the ball, you can't just run in and knee a guy square in the back. Eyes on the ball or not, he wasn't a chance in the contest, didn't attempt to get his hands near the ball, and just ended up unfairly contacting another player. Should have been a 50 metre penalty at the time, and at most a week suspension.

I'm speechless. Can someone actually be this ******ed?

yeah, another stkilda fan

too many morons to boot on these forums claiming to be st kilda fans, you all breed in a mental institution?

he eventually put his arms up, put it this way: His eyes were on the ball but with peripheral vision he would know full well that he was going to knee goodes somewhere, probably hit the perfect spot, didn't warrant a suspension, possibly a reprimand, not a lot in it.

Now Beaver's, normally I let 99.999% of the stupid opinions on this board pass without comment but I'm bored & for some reason am moved to make an exception in your case.

"considering goodes had mark the ball"

Goodes didn't mark the ball. Jude Bolton did. Goodes didn't attempt to mark the ball.
Miller kicked from the wing, Neitz was leading to the flank, hotly pursued by Leo Barry. The kick fell short to where Bolton was waiting. Goodes saw Neitz coming & moved into his line to protect his teammate from a contest or collision from Neitz. Looked over his shoulder to check where Neitz was & stepped in. Much respect to Goodes. Very courageous, very selfless piece of play.

If you're going to quote facts to support your opinion Beaver's, you might want to get them right. Better than living life with the windows locked so your credibility doesn't fly out of them. And if you don't want your inadequacies pointed out, stop highlighting them.

It did look bad but he kept his eyes on the ball the entire time.

That's what saved him in the end.
Eyes for the ball means nothing if your hands aren't there for the ball, too. What's was he going to mark the ball with? His head?If he had eyes for the ball he should have got alot closer to the player who ended up with it, which was Jude Bolton. He realised moments before he jumped he'd misjudged the path of the ball, & didn't even disguise intent to mark, by putting his hands up.The only part of his body that kept going up through the whole thing was the knee.It was careless, reckless, bordering on intentional, for mine.
