How does Reddit find it's suggestions?

I've noticed lately, stuff I'm writing on BigFooty is suddenly popping up on Reddit. I recently discussed Hozier here, and aside from listening to on Spotify and Youtube, I only typed the word Hozier into Spotify, I didn't do any Google searches.

How is Reddit doing this?

Algorithms are pretty clever, there's a heap of trackers that exist on all these websites and apps.
