and that disadvantages small business who dont have the automation and the footsoldiers of the big boys

its either 0.5 a day or a day, and it allows all businesses to compete on a level playing field

This is a crap reason not to re-open. Most of the businesses around me are single or maybe a couple of people who work at family-owned places. They'd be back in action in 5 minutes.

On the suburb-by-suburb thing. I think you'd need to look at a map of all the Primary Close Contacts (who are potential spreaders - even if they test negative once). And since we had exposures at 2 footy matches and a heap of pubs, I'd guess most of the city is crawling with PCCs.

Well Brad since you asked, I think that it's bullshit that they the don't open gyms up. Yes I understand that these places are much more populous to germs, but there are way more avenues to combat them like sanitary wipes, sprays, and much better hygiene facilities than in pubs or in PT. Plus gyms are not only good for physical development but also emotional,psychological and social development. How do you think I have kept those dark thoughts at bay?

How come it's apparently healthier to go and get wasted in a pub but its forbidden to get fit in the gym? Where is the bogus "health advice" on that? Why is it OK to have pint of beer in each hand but not OK for those hands to be filled with a dumbbell? Why is OK for me and 20 of my mates to go to a pub to crowd around a table, but not OK for us to go to a gym where we're spread out? Where is the phoney "health advice " on that?

27 gyms were locations for transmission in lockdown 2. How many pubs?

Just one word, Danny, please. Ha ha ha ha ha ha :D Or even a grainy bit of video from a dodgy phone. Anything, please. He's clearly got brain damage and can't speak, otherwise he would

It really doesn't suit the LNP narrative that Andrews wont front a camera. Because up to this point their only strategy has been to call him "Dictator Dan" and make up stories.

Dictator James just hasn't caught on, so they need their villain back.

Policies and idea are for idiots.

Your only mistake here is attempting to have a serious conversation with that poster.

On the first, I assumed everyone would want to open straight up, but I was wrong and companies bitched and moaned. This is in response to that.

On the second, there are maps that show infected people by suburb (not exposure sites). We had people infected in Cranbourne and the se

Was it 27 gyms or 5 or 6 gyms that was visited by the same people?

27 gyms

The issue is unless you put barriers up around every piece of equipment to restrict airflow, Airbourne transmission is extremely hard to stop

And don't forget half of gym people don't even wipe down after they finish their set

The gym thing.

There are so many other forms of exercise. Walking, Running, Cycling, Swimming, home gyms, even just basic sit-ups and push-ups in living rooms!

The idea that pubs aren't well sanitised places is ridiculous. Pubs, cafes and restaurants are arguably the most sanitised places you can find.

Do you have any evidence to back that first statement up?

Business’s have continually been frustrated by the fact that the government won’t give them any warning about when they will ease restrictions, I don’t recall any saying they would like opening up delayed to give them more preparation time.

It was said back in sept last year (so bloody hard to dig out now)

My job is working with businesses from large to mum n pop businesses, and few were able to spin on a dime.

Basic stuff like a complete wash down of the shop, getting staff at short notice, and updating procedures around latest covid rules takes time.

What a ripping day!

1. First Pfizer dose;
2. 1 case...linked;
3. Buckley "quits";
4. Restrictions eased;
5. Friday long-lunch booked.
Be prepared though m8, when you sink that first pint and it mixes with the Pfizer magnetic vaccine the 7G signals pinging out of your arse will become 10G.

Yes, many business owners complain, then they make up stories about needing time to prepare to open, which is impossible to give with any certainty because if they could, it would already be open.

It would be worse if the Govt said "You can open on Friday as long as there are no cases Thursday" then there are too many cases Thursday and businesses are stuffed.

Plenty of other places to drink too, no? Why go to the pub? just stay home and drink, the end result in the same - you're drunk!

FWIW every gym I've been to plus their members have been exceptional at sanitizing and what not, far better than restaurants and bars (well the ones i've been to anyway).

Haha-It’s so true- dictator James just doesn’t cut it, so they grow increasingly desperate.

Now we've leaked a case into Queensland... :grimacing:

This should be a 6 month jail term.

Absolutely deplorable behaviour.

Bunnings of course 😂. Why would you go to Bunnings while you’re on holiday?

Maybe it’s whatsisname’s auntie who went through Jervis Bay when the case was there. Sorry, can’t remember who it was, a few pages back (or maybe not this thread… 😏).
