Nothing is ever perfect, but i would put my faith in hospital people doing the right thing over some 10 buck security guard who does not care.

A side note, nurses in my opinion are the most awesome people in the world.

you are aware the same security you have for HQ will be doing security at the hospital

they are the same labour hire firms with the same resource. why do people think it will suddenly improve with a different address?

The only thing they will do is man the doors, the actual nurses and doctors will deal directly with the patients, i've never known a security guard deliver a patient a meal or medication in a hospital setting, certainly did not happen to me when i was in hospital.

Ned_Flanders just going back to our discussion on masks outdoors from a few days ago.

I think today’s announcement vindicates my position somewhat. And they have given no medical evidence of their ongoing necessity, hiding behind one vague comment after another on the matter.

What a ridiculous comment

you are deadset naïve at times

ED's are a major violence risk factor, with physical assaults on docs and nurses pretty common.

add to that hospitals are ground zero for all sorts of fun drugs and the like

then if the hospital is running a psych ward with lockdown facilities, that needs it too.

security is something we dont want there, but its been a feature for some time

Easing restrictions as planned…one change is masks indoors and outdoors. They are saying it’s medical advice but are happy to open anyway.

So, from a messaging point of view they look like complete mugs.

You have to be ****ing kidding me, security guards do nothing more than man the doors at hospitals and offer directions and step in if needed if violence escalates, given that this will be a specialist ward only for Covid they will do nothing more than stand at the door and make sure no one does a runner, which from what i can gather has not occurred here in Melbourne at any time, as people have accepted their fate coming back that they have to quarantine. the hospital staff will be responsible for dealing with the patients at all times.

People want to go outside and exercise without a mask. Don’t be a sucker. They have no backing or reasoning for their advice other than panic.

It's come about because of the new cases today. Until such time as those investigations are completed then we have to consider the airborne nature of the virus itself. Not panic just dealing with reality. Hardly a massive imposition.

Well if they truly believed that they should have extended lockdown.

I have to mask up in the park by myself but can happily sit in a cafe, sans mask with 50 others yelling over each other to have a conversation.

Do you not see how ridiculous this is?

nurses are not there to "deal" with violence.

also what do you think security does at HQ? they watch doors and make sure noone enters certain areas

heres a big tip. the private security at the courts, dirving prisoners around, manning embassies, at universities, at prisons, and at hospitals - they come from the same labour pool from the same private contractors.

and these are the same guys providing the same service for offshore detention and HQ

nurses deal with violence, **** me...

Who Gives a F about masks outside. If you're in a location where there's somebody close enough to tell you to put a mask on, then you should have a mask on anyway.

If you're walking by yourself and nobody is around, don't worry about it.

If you're not carrying one, you're a kn0b.

There's heaps of literature about airborne spread of viruses, this is what the medical advice is based on, including transmissions last outbreak, as outlined by Allen Chen.

If anybody's got any contradictory studies from reputable sources, I'm sure they'd be worth a read.

Do I or my “paid lover” need to mask up as well?.. wait let me answer. No.

No, because you checked into the cafe. So if you test positive, they can quickly trace all those people you shared your lunch with.

If they have to trace everyone you walked past in suburban areas on your way to the cafe that would be impossible. COVIDSafe App doesn't work, you see.

If the government said wear one when you can’t socially distance then fine. That’s not the rule, the rule is masks at all times.

You can’t put your slant on the rule to justify it.

Actually yeah you’re right. The virus doesn’t get airborne in brothels. If you’re lying down, you can’t get Covid.

It's definitely a rule that does my head in. Like when you had to wear a mask at a shopping centre but didn't have to wear one while eating at the food court in the same shopping centre.

If it's such a deadly disease and can be transmitted so easily.....surely eating food at a shopping centre should be banned.....

So I don't need to wear one when I'm in any shop I've checked in at? Didn't know that....

JB hi-fi, checked in, mask off
Bunnings, checked in, mask off
Strippers, checked in, mask off
