Tricky. While I would like to agree with that approach, I think that patients are not considered "fully vaccinated" until x2 vaccines are given, and for AZ that is 12 week gap.
Ok then you must certainly agree that there is no excuse for the making permanent of “emergency powers” as reported in The Age (not Murdoch) today?

Why is such a thing even being contemplated?

His electorate office got smashed a few times last year during his 2nd wave. Just thought perhaps the police would advise him to move once his address got made public for the same reason.
We know its likely cath and the kids fled to QLD last year for instance. Perhaps that was on security advice.

Nasty unlawful people, wtf, why should he move because people are idiots?

Same reason for instance that the PM gets a secured residence as part of the job, for security reasons as needed.

Weve seen for instance what the lunatic left do to scomo when they get the chance (see the CWA egging incident for one).

God I'm jealous of you guys back home. Obviously last year's three month lock down in Melbourne was brutal, but outside of that its been short and sharp.

Another two weeks quickly done.

Compare here to the UK, which has been a complete cluster fu**. 15 months of a semi lockdown, which has gone nowhere.

Not Melbourne now, but it was till a few weeks ago and will be again soon...
.Everytime I see a big crowd at the football I cry into John Smith's. We had 20k at the FA Cup final and that's been about it. Last two rounds of premier league games also got 10k. Go team UK!!

Yet you read other threads on here and people are whinging about UK and the rest of the world are getting back to normal and we’re still ****ed...

Other than Melbourne’s complete overreactions, the rest of the country is basically operating as normal and Melbourne was before this.

Plus, let's not conflate Victoria with Australia (as many are doing here). There is life outside insular Melbourne.

i think he's referring to the vaccine rollout. on that, Victoria isnt a wasteland

due to the lockdown bringing greater urgency here, the strength of the state rollout sees it delivering more doses than any other state:

And for per capita adults, only Tassie is doing more on first doses (second doses Vic is worst in country, showing most of the movement has been in the state has been in the state system since the lockdown (where there is insufficient time to have a second yet):

I think people are sick of the border being closed.

Nothing like incarceration to achieve compliance.

thats idiotic

the main driver has been gen x. at the state centres half of the injections given (last i heard) were pfizer, which is only available for 40-49. thats where the uplift is coming from. boomers are still following Hunt's advice, and waiting for pfizer at the end of the year because its not a race.

and Anna didnt help matters with her bullshit last week of delaying her vaccination so long she was forced to get pfizer (way to sell the safety of AZ Anna)

No idea why. Not in favour of it if report is accurate

Do you ever get sick of your own bs?

That you have powers that are less well defined controlled by unelected officials that at the whim of the government of the day.
oh ok yes that would be worse. But is my suggestion of time limited power extension better than a permanent extension?

It was time limited, once. And then it was extended. And then extended again. Parliament does have the ability to put a stop to that charade, it's probably why the proposed legislation exists in the first place.

But I'd much rather the powers dealt by legislation, and amended down the track by some other government (which considering we are talking about powers, will never happen anyway.)
