wow, we are in some pretty deep crap dudes. How on earth Aus ended up with such an extremist loonie at the helm is beyond me.
Johhny my little man, you forget one important thing dude.
Eveyone says Aus is a great place to live, correct? great places to live dont happen in the last 6 to 8 years, fool. The one thing that defined Aus was its non extremism to either side of the political spectrum and you my man, are going to **** it all up on your watch. ;)

The trifecta - a war criminal, a loony authoritarian and a bigot.

Reagan was responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths in Central America, spawned the Taliban and violated international law against Nicuagura. Thatcher launched a viscous class war against workers and the poor and the old pole had the deaths of millions on his hands as a consequence of his insane policy regarding AIDS. A real rodent rogues gallery

Extremist? Well I suppose you could call adherence to multicultural programs, extraordinarily penal tax rates, massive aboriginal funding, welfare state expansion etc extremist.

Didnt know you were a member of the Adam Smith fan club.

is that what Johnny says in his speeches? I am going to allocate to this... i am going to allocate to that.....and you know what? He says it, but we continue to not see it. Now go figure what game little Johnny is playing. I would be tipping the Political game. You know the one that has all these big time speeches that say to the people, look see, i am saying we are going to do it. But you know what? I am still at pains to see what is actually the "doing" bit. Kind of think its still sitting on the document that was written by the speech writer, with this on the side in bold red letters, SAY THIS, THEY LOVE THIS STUFF, THEY THINK YOU ARE SPENDING BECAUSE YOU PROMISE IT IN YOUR SPEECH. ;)

That Howard does spend a fortune on aboriginal affairs, welfare, the multicultural industry etc is a matter of record as is insistence on penal tax rates.

Whilst Fairfax and the ABC might like to think Howard is some sort of right wing demagogue, like Fraser he is simply a socialist, albeit one who hates unions.

Yes indeed, you can spend a fortune in many ways cant you?
It all depends who you spend it with that isnt on record.
Like how about if suggested i am going to spend a million dollars on say, for arguments sake with a bookie, to prove to you that i bet. You will immediately think, gee, i bet, but you dont immediately think, if the bookie is going to take the cash and hand it back to me, since we have a deal that its purely done for PR. ITs on the record as a million being spent though isnt it? ;)

Exactly why he'll win the next election.

The common wage-earner has never been better off than under this government.

As much as the left like to whinge and complain, the fact is he has the support of the majority of this nation despite the frenzied attempts by the above-mentioned media to sway them.

You're above example is incorrect as the bookie in question would have to record the money as coming in and then record it as going out. All transactions over $10000 also have to be recorded in detail for auditing purposes.

Any examples in particular or just sweeping statements again ?

dont know how old you are dude, but i would be asking the common-wage earners during Goughs time about how things were with him. You will be very surprised.
How about you think about how much harder you are working now, not because you want to, because you have to, and how many members of the family have to work because of the same, and what effect it has on the overall family, before you jump to cliched conclusions that are aligned to what you bring home in the pay packet and not what goes out in medical premiums etc. ;)

They obviously weren't that good with Gough as he got thrown out of office and couldn't get back in.

Howard however has been voted back in time after time after time (and it kills you too.:D ).
People vote with their hip pocket. If things aren't working well economically then that government will soon be out on its ear.

Name me one country that has this utopia you talk about ?
Just one.

oh they would good enough, but Gough got set up and made out to be doign things behind the country's back. You know we hate having someone like that at the helm dont you?
He didnt have the "how to forget and not recall" manual that Johnnie has.
Or did he have the luxury of having the only say as to who could investigate the govt of the time, ontop of setting out what the investigators could only investgate. It tends to get you what you want doesnt it? As long as you keep on handing out the bribes to people like yourself, and their hip pockets are lined, you get to be PM for a decade, dont you?
By the way did you jump at the 3 gs he offered for people to have kids? It ould have lined your pockets even more huh? What happens when the 3gs runs out and you and the missus have to work? I would be tipping you will be reapying the 3gs back with interest huh? naaa, tripper dont think about the hip pocket like that does he? Its all about today and not about tomorrow isnt it when its all about the hip pocket and what is in it now. ;)

unemployed or very worried about becoming unemployed and struggling to stay afloat with inflation going through the roof.

naa dude, dont forget the topic was the common wage-earner, not the non wage earner.
Struggling to stay afloat? man, i bet you are in your mid 20s huh? only know Keating and go from there huh? Lets put it this way, for the kids that are just getting into their first home, see how "easy" its going to be for them to pay off their only home in their lifetime.
Then ask the parents of these kids how easy it was to not only pay off the family home but buy another that they payed off as well, back then.
Then you might understand the facade that is being sold to you by Johnny that you are living in.
The proof will be in the eating of the pudding man, like i said, its easy to look like good economic managers when the world economy is booming on the back of China, its when things go bad that you understand who the real good economic managers are, because they saved for that rainy day and had reserves to take care of the people in a crisis.
Fasten your seat belts, you understand how much the population is in credit dont you? How easy everyone forgets the lessons of the past. They get sucked in every time. I mean..."PREGNANT PAUSE"? LMAO.....come on now, that is jsut dripping with, we know you are asleep and we can sell you this crap. Like what? does it give you a saving? naa, it purely adds more time to how long you have to toil to pay your home off, also leaving yuo more susceptible to another rate hike, that otherwise you would have missed had you not thought about having a kid, because of the PREGNANT PAUSE..its another way of saying why not?, we look like the best, and you end up paying us more thinking we are the best....LMAO gotta love it dont ya? we are indeed becoming a society with shrinking brains arent we? ;)

Gough managed to turn plenty of the former in to the latter.

yeah maybe he did, maybe the global economic climate forced his hand. The one thing he also did was take care of those who you suggest as former, better than those who are not part of the fornmer under this govt., but are part of the "employed" on the minumum wage, or the mum that has a 3 hour a week job.
Like i said dude, fasten your seat belts. I would be getting a little edgy around the time, Johnny decides to hand over the reins to Peter. You know how Johnny works dont you?
How good woud he look when the next dude is wallowing in the mire in comaprison to him? Especially how that loving relationship has jsut blossomed and sprouted fruit, lately. Can you imagine how Johnny would feel, levaing the country in his percieved healthy state, people like yourself lauding the genious, and then when he is gone, the wheels fall off with Peter at the helm?
Remember med, its all about the hip pocket now huh? ;)
