The nightmare scenario for Umpires.

Do they pay in the back or over the shoulder to Judd? Or do they pay a holding the ball decision to Ablett?

A scenario in which Protected Species tackles Golden Boy will probably result in a massive umpiring stalemate, the game would be halted and the decision would have to be referred to the AFL Tribunal.

It's enough to make Scott McLaren toss and turn at night.

What to do?

Your suggestions, please. The best answer will be sent to AFL HQ.

Ablett's tears would meet Judd's 'hair' and open up a vortex into which the universe as we know it would be sucked and we'd cease to exist.

It would be play on, in the same way that if you strapped a buttered piece of toast (buttered side out) to the back of a cat and the dropped it, it would never actually hit the ground.

The ump's brain would explode due to the conflict between the absolute deadlock of which free to pay vs the absolute need to blow the whistle for anything and get his face on the telly.

This is the only LOL worthy thread you have started HP! Even if it does have a sniff of Judd/Ablett obsession.

To answer your question: It would be a free kick to Judd for too high, then would be reversed to Ablett for uncontrolable sooking, then it would be reviewed by the MRP for eye gouging/striking, but Ablett admitting that Judd did nothing wrong.

haha nice

its a tough one.. I'm going to have to go with tissues and votes as well

ps. best thread for a fair while podgey :thumbsu:

That umpire would be sweating on an off-the-ball incident or another infringement so he'd never have to make the decision.

I liken this situation to a father having to choose between which child he saves after the car plunges into the lake.

A scary scenario, I'm sure one that Vlad and Anderson have not thought through at the AFL bunker.

Unfortunately, its going to be an incident like this one described that will see one of field umpires melt under the pressure of it all and ask the goal umpire for assistance.....

The goal umpire, having no idea what to do - will go into some kind of "loop" and perform the following action over and over.....
