I find it incredibly hard to believe that the AFL would tamper with the results.
The amount of money involved in the Brownlow with the betting agency's if massive. The fallout of messing with the votes would be the biggest controversy in AFL history, worse the the Essendon saga. No way they would risk it just to avoid an awkward situation.

If you think the AFL is clean you clearly haven't lived with your eyes open.

Also as if the AFL don't know the winner prior to them being read out.

Therefore they could 100% alter a vote to avoid a 'bad' look.

30+ disposals and 2 goals, 10 coaches votes but 0 Brownlow votes. With a game less, definitely the moral winner.

I agree should have got votes but if we use the coaches votes the Martin should have won by 15 votes

You brought up the coaches votes as an arbiter of brownlow votes, if we use that as a measure Martin should have won by more, how hard is that to comprehend.

The voting is clearly rigged against Geelong p,ayers though. If there was any justice in the AFL the coaches would be allowed to vote for Dangerfield in every game of the round. Hes just that good mate.

Fyfe probably should have been suspended 3 or 4 times in 2015.

Danger stiff he didn't get the benefit of Charlie's halo.

Ha. I'm sure you can recount those "3 or 4" times in vivid detail too, right?

On the thread topic - Dustin Martin was a deserving winner this year. Not much else to add.

Well done to Dusty he has been the best player this year but Dangerfield should have been a joint winner. Danger was the difference between the pies and cats rd22, Any idiot could see that and he should have got the 3 votes in that game. That he didnt get any is telling. I am guessing umpires did not give him votes because of his situation. He has basically lost a 2nd brownlow because of a tackle (ridiculous). Under the same stupid rules Cotchin shouldn't be playing this grand final (Thank god he is because he deserves to be there). Time for the MRP to get some common sense as they did with cotchin.

I agree that it is odd he didn't poll a vote in that game. But the AFL wouldn't tamper with the votes, surely...

I think Dusty was a more than deserved winner, which might be hard to comprehend for some posters in here, but that 1 game just oddly sticks out.

But it's not like some of the worlds biggest sporting organisations aren't corrupt, so who knows what the AFL is capable of.

Gotta love the theatre of bringing out the votes by armoured truck... they know the results before they even start the proceedings anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

I love how they get some random bodybuilder dude to suit up in their uniform and carry the case in.

Bizarre that Paddy didn't get the 3 votes against Collingwood. Was clearly BOG and by memory kicked a great goal in the last few minutes to put Geelong in front just to add a bit on top. I have no doubt the umpires were probably hesitant to give him more votes after he just got suspended and they would have known that the race would be reasonably close. Bit of a tin foil hat idea though, Dusty was clearly the better player this year and I'm surprised it even got this close.

No, I definitely don't think they're clean. But fixing the Brownlow could literally bring down the organization. There is simply no way they would risk it just to avoid an awkward situation.

All the votes are read in a specific order and did you notice they were doing 1 round per set of ads on the telly starting 3 rounds before Dusty took a commanding lead... no surprises anywhere you look.

No Paddy was BOG that game.

30 touches, 10 tackles, 8 I50 and 11 clearances.
Stats don't tell the full story and he had a seagull of a game. Guthrie's touches were more valuable and he did a huge job on Martin and Taylor had one of the standout full forward games of the year, crushing the greatest defender of the modern era. 2 and 3 votes respectively
