Anyone else get the email saying that ITW members won't be offered seats to the new stadium until January 2018!?!?

This is the email.

Although the club has not yet reached a final agreement to play at Perth Stadium, the club intends – and looks forward – to playing football at this new world class venue. The club will continue to work through negotiations of the remaining issues with the interests of our members and fans at the centre of those discussions.

The club is well advanced in planning its transition to Perth Stadium, which will commence with existing Season members once a deal is reached.

After all existing Season members have been offered the opportunity to relocate to Perth Stadium, we will begin the process of offering upgrades to our In The Wings members, in order of their waitlist position. This will likely take place sometime in January 2018. Please note that all In The Wings members will be required to renew their In The Wings membership in order to be eligible for an upgrade offer. The club will be in contact with renewal information in November 2017.

Unfortunately, the club will not be able to confirm the number of Perth Stadium memberships available for In The Wings members to upgrade into until that process is underway; however, we look forward to offering a number of options to our In The Wings members, including products with function room access, traditional reserved seat memberships, and general admission memberships, which will include reduced-match packages.

Thank you again for your ongoing support as we approach this exciting moment in club history.

We look forward to sharing the journey with you.

Kind regards,

Kind of makes sense, ticketed members will be allocated seats then they have the chance to move around etc.

Quite interested by the sounds of the general admission memberships. Will it be an effective sale of ga to itw members before the sale to ga

Basically there's going to continue to be a waitlist - i did the math a while back in this thread. I've been ITW since 2010 or 2009 so I'm expecting tickets but I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed ITW members. Can't say I'm surprised it's going to take until Jan 2018 but it sucks having to wait that long and have to pay an extra year membership to then be offered an 'upgrade'. It'd be pretty rude if they double dip on the membership fee.

The GA multi game membership is the most interesting, I'm assuming there's going to be a GA section of the stadium and non reserved seat members will sit there along with other GA tickets similar to what happens at the G or Etihad. I personally prefer having an allocated seat but can't necessarily commit to all 11 games, the way I read the email <11 game memberships will be GA only.

I doubt they'd introduce non-allocated seats. More likely nominate the games you want to attend and allocated based on that.

When I finally got in midway through the 2012 season I'm pretty sure they worked out the fee taking into account what I'd already paid and how much of the season was left.

As mentioned above the bit in the email that got me was and i paraphrase: " thanks for coughing up the $65 every year for a lanyard, pen and pencil case and the hope of one day getting a membership when we get a new stadium, well you are just about there but we are going to need one more payment of that $65." Seriously if that in the wings payment isnt credited off the seated memberships i will not be spending a $1 in the new stadium. Absolute joke

I feel ripped off...I never got a pencil case!

This is from the email and why I think they'll have non-allocated seats:
"including products with function room access, traditional reserved seat memberships, and general admission memberships, which will include reduced-match packages."

but maybe they'll still allocate seat numbers in the general admission section.

Those of you grandpas who actually managed to get season seats somehow, what did you work out an average game costs to attend?

Re-sale is about $50 minimum a pop for us ITW plebs.

About $60 a game for me.

$44 a game for seat in standard section. If I wanted to use re-sale they give me $29 back. They can go and get ****ed.
New stadium needs a proper re-sale option that gives a fair % of your ticket back.

Its not like anyone actually needs to do any work besides a programmer writing some code to accept the seat # back into the ticket pool and list the seat again...

About $45 per game. I'm in Standard seating but just 1 row in front of Premium seating which would add about $20 to the cost of each game. As a 30 year member getting season seats way back when wasn't an issue. While the population has probably trebled over that period the seating allocation has remained stagnant, ergo an ever growing shortage of seats in a basic supply and demand model. Based on what I've heard from the club if I want an equivalent seat I'll be paying about double what I do now. Many others will be in the same boat which may lead to a number not renewing their memberships. I hope the club hasn't taken the attitude that with so many ITW members they're not overly concerned about losing current members, but if there is a dramatic price increase many ITW members may reassess their intentions.

I don't think you should really expect to get the full face value of reselling your seat.
Guess that was aimed at what I said as noone else brought it up?

I did say a fair %...
Offering me $29 to buy the seat back then re-selling it for $60 is not fair. That's why I and all the members I know never use the thing. Rather give it away to a friend.

New stadium are saying of sorry we can only get 7000 general admission seats. I can let them into a little secret to making a lot more general admission available every game. Give a fair % of the price a member paid for seat re-sale and members will actually use it. Charge a $3 handling fee against the person re-selling, then make the profit by selling the $50 members priced seat for $60. $13 profit for doing nothing. Sounds good to me.

You're still getting offered something. Fair enough it isn't the max value but ohwell. You then choose to do something nice and give them away to friends or family or not attend. Something better than nothing.

I know. What I'm meaning is that if they don't sell it they go to waste. There should be an option to check and opt out and at least I could give em to a mate if they don't sell at the last min

I agree with you, the resale program is a joke. Got no issue with an admin fee but I pay $65 per game for premium seats and what they offer to sell them back is a joke so hence I don't bother. I am all for giving others the chance to go but I am not going to be a part of the club double dipping on seat sales.
Like you I end up just giving them away to family and friends but if the club offered $50 back for my $65 seat then i would resell them everytime.

Yeah I think it just get's a bit too prickly with opt in and out. No doubt they could do it. Probably just in the too hard basket.
