So I'm assuming you all got an email from the club saying you had a chance to buy them if you were low enough? I don't expect to get one since I'm around 10,000ish but I'm just curious.

Yeah, came in 8am yesterday saying it would open for me (2300s) from 10am today, and close for everyone in 2 weeks.

So there we have it. An open invitation to anyone who has friends who are way down the waitlist and have no chance of getting seats to simply buy your two kids seats and let your mates use them as adult seats.

What a complete joke.
I ended up getting 2 adults and 2 kids seats rather than miss out on seats for the kids altogether, but my kids are still way too small for the footy. Their seats will sit empty for 5 years until they are big enough to come along because you've convinced me that its the honorable thing to do.

My missus went and bought me a 5-game Freo membership for my bday :sick:.

She's one of those weirdos that actually supports both Freo and WCE. Thinking behind it is we get a reserved seat to the Freo home derby, and priority access to the WC home derby. As far as alternatives for those ITW members unlikely to grab a membership, it's not ideal but hardly the worst.

Wouldn't recommend it to too many people as I feel queasy seeing my name on a purple membership card. Please don't judge

I'm judging !!!

Anyone doing front row?

Wouldn't be my first choice as you would be out in the weather when it rains, but other than that, if it was an option we would have no problems adhering to the requirements and would definitely consider it... especially if the only other option was in the nosebleeds behind the goals.

As expected.... two seats sit empty while people on the waitlist miss out.

I don't know if that's worse than someone using junior memberships to get an adult a seat, and I can see why you would do such a thing, so not having a dig at you... after all, you just want a seat for your kids when they are old enough to enjoy the footy.

Maybe there should be some program where you can sell those seats to someone for a limited time, even if it's just one season at a time. The ITW member could buy your seat for the season, but still retain their position on the waitlist... everyone wins.

I was just having a laugh; I only took two seats.

But are you annoyed about ITW members taking kids' seats and letting adults use them, or are you annoyed about ITW members getting more than one seat full stop?

I suspect it is both but the former is obviously just a symptom of the latter. Anyway, if one of the posters above is correct, then the current scheme is set to come to an end. But I expect that will only apply to new ITW members otherwise it would be unfair to current ITW members who only signed up for one membership thinking they would get up to 4 seats.

Can't be annoyed about ITW members getting more than one seat, as that has been the deal right from the start.

Only annoyed at the idea of people using the junior seats to jump their adult mates up the list.

As far as I'm aware, the bad seats in the sun are the ones reserved for opposition supporters.
The whole South East corner, all 3 levels. There's a lot more than just the opposition seats in the sun.

Most of the south wing will be in the sun for days games - which includes Cat A memberships on level 1, and the more expensive (~$1600 and $1100) level 3 memberships with the bar behind them. The same as subi.

I frigging hope not.

I am up the back of Block 346 (row 13). I went to the seats at the stadium open day and the sun seemed to miss them. I went to Aus v England ODI and sat above the seats in block 541 and I kept an eye on them throughout the day - especially from 1.30pm onwards. Our earliest game is 1.30pm. Sun seemed ok.

Interestingly, the 8 and 10 seats boxes had sun on them all throughout the ODI - blocks 347 - 350 - that is Club 87 reserve ($34,790 for a 10 seat block).

Winter sun is lower in the sky.

Anyway, sun comes out - I'll go and stand in the Club 87 bar:D

Fingers crossed.:)

Going to be great wherever one sits - I reckon.

The front of those stands definitively do - that's why the Noteholders grabbed all the seats in level 1 on the North Side.

The Chris Mainwaring wing was always bathed in sun during day games. The North wing is the same. The further around you get to Burswood end, the longer the sun will last.

I'm in block 141, and expect to be in the sun for the first half of day games.

Why should the club close these out? I'm sorry, but as a 20+year member if I decide to move interstate I'm still keeping my membership and doing this. I ain't a moron and gonna jump to the back of the queue.

This. I’m moving overseas this year and won’t be giving up my 4 tickets - rather passing them to my cousins family and they’ll buy them off us for the year

How do we get tickets for round 1? It seems every other game except WC and freo home games go on sale today. Any idea when I can jump on and nab some?
Wouldnt be fair on ITW members if they put the games on sale before they sort out memberships.

What's not fair is that they haven't sorted out memberships yet, the entire AFL now has tickets on sale, except WC and Freo. The game is in freaking 3 weeks.

So what's the deal with public? We just won't get any chance to? I live over seas now and im flying in to see some family and was pumped to go to round 1. sigh, what a joke.

I checked with the club a few weeks ago on this. If you buy public reserve tickets and then get a membership off the waitlist, they will refund you the public reserve ticket. You should hedge your bets and buy them

I would If i could, there is no way to buy them.

They also said they would go on sale in March, which I think will be either this week or next week (my guess is next week as that is two weeks out, but it is just a guess). Give the membership department a ring if you want to know more, they've been pretty open with me the last couple of times I spoke to them. From memory, they were trying to get as many of the waitlist members processed as possible before releasing them.

Buy your tickets when they come out. There's more public tickets than previously, when they do come out.

The club has been much been spot on with there timings they communicated, anger is misplaced. It's a pretty crazy task moving this many members, sorting out new members etc. The "entire AFL ... except WC and Freo" didn't move stadiums.
