Well Veef is long for VFL in written form but short for VFL in spoken form. It is a new class of versatile terminology I am trying to invent. It is sort of a hybrid abbreviation/elongation. So I don't know what to call it, any thoughts?

Are you related to the bloke by any chance? * me
No.
Don’t be childish.
Apart from the last bit about done an okay job he is correct. Are you related to the bloke by any chance? * me

On what planet has he done a good job? Could be the most ridiculous comment ever posted on BigFooty
I said he has done an okay job. Not a good one. Don’t put words in my mouth then insult me with it.
I say that on the basis of it being is first year running the program and giving him leeway to take learnings and improve.
Guys like Burgess have literally been all over the world for the last 20+ years. Everyone starts somewhere, and no one starts experienced.
If you want further detail.
The recurring injuries we have had are:
- Tarrant with his hip. He did it whilst on a modified program playing at a half for VFL. Which is the exact way you bring players back from injury in the first place.
- Seth Campbell with his abductor. Was listed as a test which then was upgraded to medium term. I expect this is because they are trying to heal it 100% and not play at 80%.
- Soldo with his foot. We don’t know full details, but as said before, that is on Match Committee’s doorstep.
All other injuries are either new injuries or contact injuries. You can’t blame Meehan for those unless it has to do with load management, which to my understanding none of them do.
If there is an issue, it’s the base level fitness the team seems to have, which seems below par. Again, I’m happy to assess the performance after another preseason to see if any learning and adaptation has occurred.
An okay job. But the blame he gets from some here is simply not warranted.
It is pretty clear Richmond have gone for a bit lower cost high performance manager in order to save some money in the soft cap, to enable spending in other areas.

Since when has the Magoo's been getting called the Veef ???
Never heard of it
2zYou won't have. I only just made it up. Got sick of saying Vee-Eff-Ell every single time I was referring to the premium state league comp.
Use it or not. But everyone is now on notice, when I say 'Veef" I mean the competition otherwise known as the VFL.

It annoys the crap out of me that we have a soft cap . And the fact that they include fitness and conditioning staff is ridiculous, why put players health and welfare at risk. How the * would somebody sitting at home know about how good a job Luke Meehan is doing? Just ludicrous from some posters looking for people to blame for recent losses. As you say, give the bloke a chance and judge him based on results over time, not on a quarter of one season.

I’m not sure if Docs and physio’s come under the cap, assume they do, it’s just crazy. Why shouldn’t clubs be able to pour as much money as they can into looking after their players now and therefore post career
the afl has an integrity unit you know?We own alligned leasure!!!!!! The world's most basic bookkeeper would be able to hide a massive portion of their salary under alligned leasure's expenditure. On their day off they're "in Shepparton consulting for the gym, in the off season same thing" we're literally the only club with the structure in place to hire the world's best guy pay him $400k hiding half under Alligned's expenses. Yet we have the cheapest and nastiest guy when our playing list is 80% old farts or young pups: the most injury prone age demographics. F@ck I'll show Benny some creative accounting if he wants.
KEY PLAYERS with injury history: Dusty, Cotch, Prestia, Grimes been pretty much available. Hopper going well injury wise.I said he has done an okay job. Not a good one. Don’t put words in my mouth then insult me with it.

Frampton is an aggressive player, 26 years old and 2m tall who has played ruck before at PA, not sure why everyone is crying (not including you but the commentators etc) about poor Collingwood ruck woes.KEY PLAYERS with injury history: Dusty, Cotch, Prestia, Grimes been pretty much available. Hopper going well injury wise.
Lynch is injury prone ditto Nank
We can cover KPDs Tarrant & Gibus. 2 Rucks unavailable ain't good but I think I saw Pies win a match with Peter Frampton rucking.
But I know zero about high performance. Meehan did 10 years with us and other clubs before that.

Injury Report: Gibcus, Soldo, Nankervis, M.Rioli
Josh Gibcus, hamstring
"It's been a long time, Josh has had a few setbacks with his wound. Things have been really good the last four-to-six weeks, he's put in a really good block. All things being good and he trains this week, he'll be available for some minutes in the VFL this Saturday, which will be exciting."
Ivan Soldo, foot
"Ivan's dealing with a pretty tricky foot problem. He's a test for later this week. We're hoping things progress really well, and if he gets through some work later in the week, he'll be available. But, we'll have to see where it's at."
Toby Nankervis, ankle
"Toby's going really well which is great. He's working really hard, as everyone would expect. We're hoping to get him involved in a little bit of football this week, and all things being good, available next week possibly, but definitely the week after."
Maurice Rioli, hamstring
"He's going really well, it's been a couple of weeks now and he's running really well. We have to be really careful, everyone knows how explosive Maurice is. So, we'll make sure we get this right, (even) if we have to take a little bit longer than we expected when we started, but he's going really well at the moment."
Tom Lynch, foot
"Tom's moved out of his moon boot which is really pleasing. He's going to see his specialist next week. Once he sees him, we'll start to formulate a plan for his return to running and then eventually football, but he's still a while away unfortunately."
Robbie Tarrant, hip
"Robbie's had a really good couple of weeks. Last Saturday in the wet out here he had a great session, so he's putting together some good work. We're going to ramp up the football and see how we go, but it's really positive at the moment and we're hoping to get him back into some footy soon."
Mate Colina, back
"We've actually seen some specialists outside of the footy club with Mate. He's in a period now where we haven't been doing any work, we actually gave him some time away from the club. He's coming back in this week, so we'll get our eyes on him and start formulating a plan back from there."
Kaleb Smith, ankle
"This is a tricky injury, things stagnated a little bit with Kaleb. But, he's a really positive kid and working really hard. We've seen some specialists outside of the Club and we're hoping to get him going again in a couple of weeks. We're a little bit unsure with how it's going to go, but he's working really hard and hopefully we'll see him soon."
Seth Campbell, adductor
"Seth's had a really stop-start year unfortunately. We made the decision a couple of weeks ago to take him out of the footy program again and really work on his strength and things have progressed really well since then. We're hoping after another week or two of de-loading, we'll get him back into the program."
Tom Brown, wrist
"Tom's been working really hard. Obviously, he's been able to run the whole time he's been injured and he's been working really hard on his fitness. He goes to see a specialist next week and hopefully gets the all clear to resume footy after that, and we'll be seeing Tom really soon which will be pleasing."
