Ins and Outs for Geelong??

For me Douglas and Callinan have to, HAVE TO, come back in. Probably at the expense of Riley and hendo/armstrong. Not that armstrong deserves to be dropped its more the the last in first out rule. We need big mature bodies against the cats otherwise it could be a massacre.
Its likely Mooney will be rested. Scarlett has already been ruled out with knee soreness and Mooney has the same. I don't think they will risk the big guy against a side they should push over.

I guess it comes down to the priorities of the club. We're likely to get massacred this week anyway. What do we gain by being massacred by a slightly smaller margin? Compare that to what we gain by having a couple of youngsters who almost certainly met their benchmarks retained in the side for an extra week.

It's a difficult line to straddle, but given that we have to straddle it, I'd rather we err on the side of giving Douglas and Callinan an extra SANFL match after their injuries than the alternative.

Dougy was on 5AA and said that he might be playing for Bays this weekend and Callinan will probably be playing for the Doggies. He also said that Tippett is a very good chance of playing against Geelong but might be playing at FF.

Let me guess - now you're totally on board with Vader and his opinion that Riley should get dropped and Reilly should stay in the team. You probably also agree that Bling and Martin did nothing to deserve their spots at AFL level this week and that Sellar derserves one more shot at the big time....actually scratch that last one:p

Martin was given B.O.G By Luke Norman on the weekend, no one seemed to notice that though. Obviously played terribly.

Yeah I think srv23 was joking about me wanting all the crows listed sturt players (bar reilly) in sanfl this week.

Personally I thought Martin was very good on the weekend

Reilly in & Riley out are two separate issues.

Reilly in is a no brainer. He's not even close to getting dropped - and I wish people would open the other eye when it comes to reviewing his performances each week.

Agreed have you gone back and looked at his stats

Okay, I will help you out:

In his last 10 games:

3 games over 20 possessions
Average 18 possession per game.

Except for the last 2 he has been in the midfield either as tagger or midfielder. Prior to being moved to defence, his possesions were 14, 15 and 17.

This from a 150 game player, who you would have to agree has performed below average based on your assessment of Armstrongs game. Especially given over this lean period we needed our leaders to actually carry their fair share.

Perhaps its you that has not opened both eyes when reviewing Reilly.

Out : Knights
In: McKernan or Sellar

It's a bit left field, but with Geelongs height up forward (JPod, Hawkins, Ottens), we need more height down back. Otten and Talia aren't tall enough to take on Hawkins in the air, nor have the body strength to take on Ottens when he is not rucking. Rutten obviously gets JPod and I think Otten or talia will run off Hawkins regularly, but the third tall possie against Ottens worries me, so It's either Sellar or McKernan for me.

Yeah - it was a joke with Crow About It. Trust me I'm on the train that wants to see Martin and Tambling back in the side and keep playing guys like Armstrong and Riley.

Anyone have any stats on his kicking efficiency, and how it compres to others in the team?

70.96%, 22nd best (mind you that includes the 1 possession of porps etc.). Team average is 72%

Equal 3rd on number in disposal for the team on 334. Johncock also has had 334 possessions with an efficiency of 80.42%

I repeat given we cannot make the finals - one eye on the now - the other on the future.

Armstrong must stay in the side so must Riley if we are really serious about getting them right for next year. Reward form.

Dougie and Wingnut have been out for at least 3-4 weeks now - they can come back through the magoos.

Tippett if fit comes back in - he could be the sub.... That would not put too much pressure on his hammy. Dont think Maric should go out though.

Bit worried by Smiths form since he came back - maybe he is the one to go out -my opinione is that it should be Reilly for the reason that he always makes critical mistakes and key times - remember that errant handball against Essendon which could have turned the game....or the two insipid dont argues we have seen in recent games. It wont happen though because of our playing list age distribution.

Martin should be an energency this week -reward again local SANFL form.

Surely with Gunna in form, and Hendo having a very average year, Hendo is the one to go. Smith has been alright, let him run out the year.

Do not want Sellar or McKernan!!!

Something wrong with Luke Thompson????

STEVIE J is a bigger worry than any of the talls you mention IMO

:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Stevie J could absolutely tear us all new ones if we don't find the right match up....Otten maybe...not Stiffy...did he play last year against us in our last win over them??

I'd keep Hendo over Smith. Smith has been a little disappointing in recent weeks, but that's to be expected from a 1st year player as the season gets long.
