I went to the game last night, I arrived at about 5:40 after previously buying my tickets at Eastland in Ringwood and catching the train from Ringwood station to the G'. My seats were fairly good, D2 in row E which is very close to being right on the wing..... but was this an advantage in my viewing. NO. The fans could not even see the boundary line because of all the bloody sponsor signs and stupid cameras in the way.... so how were we meant to know if the ball was out of bounds, we had to watch the scoreboard. Anyway, my story continues..... at about 6:30 was what had to be the worst moment of the night, a band called the PLOUGH BOYS came on stage and played us a few of their irish songs, they were bloody terrible. And what happens of course, no aussie music at all. We only got Waltzing Matilda about half an hour from the start. Then came the best bit of the night in my opinion, the fireworks really were terrific. Ok, onto the game.... come on seriously, would anyone here ever choose this game over Aussie rules? It was bloody boring, the crowd was quiet the whole night apart from that one 6 pointer we scored.... and the fact that the game never really stops for ball-ups was actually a disadvantage because the fans never really got into it with the non-stop play. Overall I found it pretty boring.
