I hear you but a 50/50 chance of a fascist US will have ramifications far beyond the states

Yes, but we didn't need to hear the same 'news' regurgitated 24 hrs in advance. Now is when we need coverage.

He only loses the rigged elections. We dont know yet if this one is rigged or not

Apparently there have been bomb threats at several US polling stations. The FBI has traced the threats back to Russia. I agree that Trump is a sore loser but the threat of a rigged election is real. I would not put it past Trump to call in a favor or two from his mates in Russia.

The Russian Government financially supports hackers then denies all knowledge when they are found out. Apparently this was the deal in the recent elections in Georgia.

Can someone explain to me how Trump has seemingly gotten himself back in the race? He looked dead and buried after Biden tagged in Kamala and he he just and kept being more outrageous and stupid than last time. Did his double down on awfulness pay off and win over more American idiots? He wasn't this bad going in to the election vs Hilary.

We’ve found out American men if they had to choose between mashing broken glass into their eye sockets and voting for a girl, will choose the former.

Reckon a Hitler / gacy / Epstein Frankenstein reanimated corpse put up by the republicans would still poll better amongst US men than a woman.

So how long until Trump pardons himself?

The problem for Trump is that the charges he was found guilty on are New York State Charges and he does not have the power to pardon himself. It is going to be interesting to see if he gets jail time because if he does the US will have a President running the country from a jail cell.

We will have wait until November 26 to see what happens and Trump, if he wins, will not be inaugurated until Jan 2025 so the sentence will be known before then. I would not mind betting that Trump is fined and has a suspended sentence. He is liable for up to four years jail time on the 34 counts on which he was found guilty but I doubt that will happen. When you have as much money as Trump you can afford the very best lawyers so anything can happen.

I am sure that the BBC is intent on interviewing every voter in the US. They must currently be up to one million so they have a few to go. Of those interviewed a striking number have said they voted for Trump because of the state of the US economy.

Listening to those interviewed one has to conclude that Harris lost the election because many US citizens think their economy is in worse shape than it really is. The US inflation rate fell to 2.4% in the September quarter, as a result the US Reserve cut interest rates to 4.75% and is expected to make a further interest rate cut later in the week, on top of that unemployment fell to 4.1% in September. In the next quarter US GDP is estimated to increase by 2.4%. I reckon Anthony Albanese would welcome some of those figures.

I am not sure what is so disastrous in the figures but many US voters were not satisfied and put their faith in Mr 'We Will Fix That'. As a result Harris was seen as part of an Administration that had failed in it's economic management. It didn't matter that Trump didn't say how he proposed to fix the supposedly flagging US economy.

It is going to be very interesting to see if the figures improve under Trump.

A side issue...
The headlines in today's Monopoly Times are all about 'Kevin Rude 'as they make a big issue about Kevin Rudd deleting some anti Trump social media posts. That is rich describing some one who insults Trump as rude. Trump is the epitome of rudeness. Then again what can one expect from the Trump supporting Murdoch Empire ? Geez, I hope James and the girls win their case against Rupert and Lachlan. Reports are if they do the Murdoch Empire will be broken up and parts of it sold off including FOX News.

Musk's rocket supply the international space station and that is controlled half by Russia as there is the Russian Orbital segment and the US Orbital Segment. From the wiki page on the ISS;

There is no fixed percentage of ownership for the whole space station. Rather, Article 5 of the IGA sets forth that each partner shall retain jurisdiction and control over the elements it registers and over personnel in or on the Space Station who are its nationals.[1] Therefore, for each ISS module only one partner retains sole ownership.

Trump Put Musk on Phone With Zelensky During Call

Elon Musk was with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago when the president-elect spoke with Ukraine’s leader. It is not clear if they discussed any change in U.S. policy toward Ukraine.

President-elect Donald J. Trump spoke on Wednesday with Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and during the call handed the phone to Elon Musk, the increasingly influential billionaire who has played a key role in providing communications capability to Ukraine in its war with Russia, a person familiar with the discussion said.

It is not clear whether the three men touched on any change in U.S. policy toward Ukraine in the wake of Mr. Trump’s election. Mr. Musk was with Mr. Trump at Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence in Florida, and the tone of the call was described as positive, according to the person familiar with the discussion.

A second person briefed on the call also confirmed Mr. Musk’s participation, which was reported earlier by Axios.
A third person briefed on the call described it as a “good talk,” saying that Mr. Zelensky had called Mr. Trump to congratulate him, and that when Mr. Trump handed Mr. Musk the phone, Mr. Zelensky thanked him for the communication assistance.

A Trump spokesman did not immediately provide a comment on the call.

.........................

Although it appeared to be the first time that Mr. Musk had joined a phone call between Mr. Trump and Mr. Zelensky, he has talked to the Ukrainian leader on at least two occasions during the war, according to Iuliia Mendel, a former spokeswoman for Mr. Zelensky.

Ms. Mendel, who worked for the Ukrainian presidential administration before Russia invaded nearly three years ago, said she had helped organize two calls between Mr. Musk and Mr. Zelensky in March 2022, roughly two weeks into the Russian invasion.

Ms. Mendel said an acquaintance of Mr. Musk’s had reached out to her in early March, asking her to help set up the call. For his part, she added, the Ukrainian leader was interested in Mr. Musk’s help in opening negotiations with the Kremlin. In particular, she said, Mr. Zelensky asked during one of the calls for Mr. Musk’s assistance in securing an agreement with Moscow to open a humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians stranded in the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

It is unknown if Mr. Musk talked to the Kremlin following his two calls with Mr. Zelensky.

I suspect Netanyahu will spend the next 70 odd days blowing the **** up out of southern half of Lebanon and the remaining bits of Gaza, and ignore Biden and Blinken, like he has for most of the last 13 months, and then when Trump comes in, in late January, tug at his forelocks and say we are prepared for a cease fire Mr President, and make it look like Trump has set up the deal.

Yep and then Kushner will be given free rein to build his luxury properties along the West Bank.

After Trump's four years someone will have to do what Teddy Roosevelt did a century ago and put the billionaires back in their boxes. Teddy dealt with the likes of JD Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie and JP Morgan and someone will have to do the same with Elon Musk. It isn't going to happen during Trump's Presidency but it will have to happen. The problem is, of course, that history shows the stark contrast between the Republican Party of the early 20th Century and today. Indeed there is a real contrast between the Republicans in the Regan years and today. Regan took the US out of the Moscow Olympics over the Russia invasion of Afghanistan, that would not happen with Trump.

Fortunately the Trump team has distanced itself from comments made by former Trump consultant Bryan Lanza. Lanza's comments in which he said the US priority would be establishing peace and not restoring lost territory echo the 'Peace for our Time ' statement espoused by Neville Chamberlain immediately after the Munich Agreement in 1938. Appeasing Hitler by ceding him territory did not work last century and it will not work with Putin. If Putin is allowed to keep the parts of Ukraine occupied since February 2022 it will afford him hero status in Russia and tell him that expansion is the way to go. Trump and his team should remember that Alaska was once part of Russia and is not that far from Russia.

I don’t think Trump would have much trouble with the US being annexed by Russia as long as the deal suits him.
Interesting how Putin has already allowed his media to humiliate Trump by splashing nude pics of First Lady elect Melania everywhere. A quiet message imo to keep Trump in his place and remind him that any Kompromat Putin has on Trump he will be happy to use if Trump steps out of line.

It's amazing how the human race keeps allowing history to keep repeating itself.
