The way Pies supporters talk about 'Bruz' I thought he was actually good. He is now 26 but when will he have a breakout game?
As we can see here he is basically the shittest AFL player to ever poll a Brownlow vote AFL Tables - Brownlow Medal Career Totals
180 games. Just the 1 vote. He wouldn't fit into a Carlton starting XIII based on Brownlow votes or common sense:
Newman Weitering Saad
Doc McGovern Williams
Cripps Walsh Hewett
Dow Cerra Acres
Martin McKay Cuningham
Fisher Curnow Kennedy
Curnow (sub)
We're down a ruckman and a bench on current listed players but lets not forget theres a dozen players who are all better Brownlow credentialled and could still be playing AFL at Carlton if they were deemed worthy. Phillips in the ruck, Tuohy the extra backman, Newnes a winger, Casboult 3rd fwd/ruck, Petrevski-Seton a mid/fwd rotation etc.
Throw in the likes of Jones and Setterfield for good coverage but then the absolute shit trucks who have had more Brownlow succuss than Bruz but are playing in the sticks somewhere for a pie and coke like Tom Bell
, Gibbons, Kerridge, Warnock and Kane Lucas
it really appears Bruz is a big shit spud.
I already knew Pies were one-eyed but I can't believe their heart and soul player who they rate highly wouldn't get a game at the Blues. And thats not my opinion. That is Brownlow fact. And you can't point to umpires being shit at voting because the AFLCA coaches votes this year point to him not being in the top 4 (let alone top 3) on a ground all year either.
If he can keep this up for another season he will take Anthony Rocca
(as universally voted by Bigfooty Bay 13 in its heyday) spot as the shittest 200 game player in the history of the AFL.
But hey at least he is big and tough and averages more contested possessions than contested bulls like Jake Lloyd
, Kozzie Pickett, Zac Guthrie, Lachie Whitfield
, Gryan Miers
, Ed Langdon
...oh wait no he doesn't.
So maybe its without the ball is his thing. Tackles he is only dead average and around the mark with 1st year player Sheezel and one way runner Toby Greene
.
He is a deadset bloody well below average player. Why do Collingwood fans love him so much? Can anybody explain what he actually brings to the table?
