seriously they have a poor coach, a long list of departures and a core group of young players who have for the most part been very uninspiring. is the fact that we lost the grandy the only thing this bunch of perenial losers have going for them right now?
 
Yep Tredrea is the King , On a one year contract, any other captains of an AFL team given a one year contract??

I would have our youngsters of Rutten Johncock Reilly VB Thompson Knights Symes (lol) Over any of the soft front running players your youngsters are. GF is evidence of the real way Port play, and why Geelong Sydney and Adelaide Beat you regularly. All three teams have strong players. Port is full of lightweights.

Perinial Losers. Might want to look that word up mate. Two flags says different. Playing in two Prelims in a row aint too bad either. Neither is having a shithouse year and still making the 8.

You beat WCE when Bennys hammy went. Yep Freo beating us was bad, but Like I said we had a shithouse year...I will admit that. The class of our team show we made the 8. OUR PLAYERS DONT GIVE UP WHEN THINGS GET HARD...Like Port mid way through 06 and mid way thorugh first quarter in GF.

Have a look over our overall record against West Coast, and I think you will find it is very good.


More to the point, what do you think of the breaking news of a crow player taking performance drugs announced on 5AA tonight?

Port can hardly be considered perinial losers. If you say playing in 2 prelims in a row 'aint too bad', we played in 3 in a row, also played in 6 of the last 7 finals series, making at least the prelim on 4 occasions and 2 Gfs, as well as making it to the 2nd week of the finals in a terrible year. I know 2 premierships is better than 1, but we are hardly perinial losers.

I guess because you said you would rather you youngsters over our they must be better, but ill have K.Cornes, S.Burgouyne, B Ebert, S.Salopek, J.Westhoff, T.Chaplin, J.Surjan, M.Pettigrew, R.Gray, D.Pearce, T.Logan, N.Krakour, T.Boak, A.Thomson, M.Thomas, A.Carslile anyday.

And do the Crows have a captain???????
 
Hey King Tredrea thanks for starting another thread about Port being smashed, we were starting to run out of material. Keep it up.

Your backline would is a huge problem at Port. No real Fullback. Onyl team in 8 to conced 200 points this year.

Westhoff, Finals?? Only plays well againt weak opponent will get best defender week in week out from now on. Wont bulk up at all.

R Gray Had a handfull fo good games when he was a loose Player, yet to do anything at AFL level.

N Krakour. Too Light for AFL

D Pearce ANother Lightwieght Suffers with Tag.

S Burger = Geuine Star

K Cornes = Genuine Star.

B Ebert, Needs to back up good year again.

Logan Thomson Thomas yet to do anything at AFL level.

Port Still rely on four players to win games. Lade, Cornes Brothers and S Burger. When these guys are out of the game they lose.


How are the young stocks at Alberton?? Delucca and Minson..what a joke. Better put the cotton wool on Lade. Even Brogan cant ruck a full game out if Lade goes down.

We ahve same issue Port has when Tredrea retire (is pushed, at end of next year at 29) with regards to captaincy..We have three players who could do it, Thommo VB or Rutten, as do Port.

How are the young stocks? I just mentioned a heap of very goof young players, and your assessment of them are terrible. We have had about 7 rising star nominations in the last 2 years. As well as the winner and runner up the last 2 years.

Westhoff had a great year, to say he was only good against weak opponents is ridiculous, especially as all year Crow supporters were saying Tredrea isnt even good enough to get the best defender anymore, now westhoff does.

Ebert had a good 2nd half to 06 when he was fit (ask Johncock), so he has already backed it up, and will do it agian. If you dont think Thomas, Thomson or Logan havent shown anything at all, you havent watched too many Port games. They will not be superstars, but very good honest players.

Gray only played a handful of games before injury, so i guess your saying all his games were good.

If you really think we have no good youngsters you have no idea, we made a Grand Final with these young guys, we may have got smashed on that day, but the fact that these young guys were good enough to get there shows we are on the right track.

All had very good years. Your younger players played Cameo roles. Not to mentions a good dose of luck, which you were good enough to take advantage of.

It wasnt untill the Finals that Westhoff drew the key backman, consistantly. He will struggle next year as he will be pushed off the ball too easily. Look at his older brother, he wont bulk up. He will get to mid 90KG, not enough for a key forward. Great Footy smarts, if he could run he would be agreat Flanker but he runs like gumby.

Rising star nominations means the player had one good game. Winning it is what sets them apart. Since D Pearce won his he has been tagged out of games. He needs to work on this. Grays game were good. Westhoff came a distant third to Pendlebury and Selwood. And rightly so. Look at the lsit of nominated players from 2005/06. How many ahve taken off since. Dean Polo anyone??

All of the bolded players either weren't good enough to make the team or turded to jelly on GF day. The only unbolded player is as soft as they come (just ask Barry Hall). Yeah....a great list of front running talent there

I thought as soon as you made any reference to any [potential drug usage and named a club that allegedly was involved it was a red card?

No doubt this is all the Crows supporters have going for them.
You only need to look at this thread for proof of this. Instead of talking about what is going right for the Crows they are talking about how bad our youngsters were on Grand Final day. Continually forgetting the point that they were good enough to get there in the first place, more than what 14 other teams can say. They almost had something to celebrate for themselves this year but they blew a 5 goal lead and choked badly against Hawthorn. :eek:

It was in Cornes days as coach ie pre 1994.

Not one current player involved. In this era there would of been quite a few players on gear look at WCE back then.
