The question is prompted by an article in the AFL media website has yesterday’s 54 point comeback as the equal 7th biggest in AFL history -
However, the list omits the Pies 55 point comeback against Richmond in Round 20, 1978 (at one stage in the 2nd quarter, Richmond led 10.2.62 to 1.1.7). So the AFL’s own media have it wrong -
Footnote to Round 20 - “Richmond were leading Collingwood by 55 points at the 10-minute mark of the second quarter before the Magpies hit back to win by 14 points. It was at the time the third-biggest comeback in League history.”
This makes me wonder what other omissions may be in the AFL list.
