Swap Rachele for Horne-Francis.
Then go get Rankine. Preferably don't give up the Rd1 pick.
Draft a Sth Aus colt.
Then focus on the preseason and 2023.
JHF upgrades the height and power of our young midfield for a tilt at 2024-onwards, and we bring Rankine into the forward line with Fog & the gang.
Maybe the last move is to bring Truck Rutten back to the club as Assistant Coach (Backline), and start playing McAsey as a backman.

Unlikely that West Coast can take Rankine in the draft if he sticks to the salary demands of $800k x 5years.
They've got on the books for 2023;
Natanui 600-700K
Shuey 750-850K
Yeo 750-850K
Darling 775-875K
Gaff 800-900K
Kelly 800-900K
McGovern 1.0-1.1M

Feels like a BS story to me - stirs up the Crows supporters - currently achieving the desired effect.
Exactly, just front end Rankine's contract to $1.5M for next year.

For mine, looking at this list, it suggests they CAN offer a similar contract.

Lots of cash freeing up as the bulk of these players retire/ get autumn year contracts from 2024 onwards.

Essendon are the ones to worry about. They’ve already flagged their interest in Rankine. I don’t know why West Coast needed to be brought up, whether it’s true or not. We all know that Essendons interest is genuine.

All leads to the same conclusion. We’re gonna have to trade to get him.

Hope the Crows come out on the front foot and say they'll walk him through the PSD if the Suns aren't reasonable. Put the expectation out there "we want to be fair but if the Suns want to be unreasonable about a player that just wants to come home and be with family for his own mental health, a player who has done his time in the GC, then we will not hesitate to use the PSD as a mechanism to bring Izak home"

West Coast is prepared to select Izak Rankine if he falls through to the pre-season draft, according to SEN SA host Michelangelo Rucci.

The out-of-contract Gold Coast forward is attracting interest from Adelaide, who are reportedly prepared to make the 22-year-old their highest paid player on a long-term contract.

Should Rankine request a trade to Adelaide and a deal between the Crows and Suns couldn’t be agreed, Rucci says the Eagles are waiting in the wings and ready to swoop.

“The trade has to be done, Gold Coast are going to demand a fair bit,” Rucci told SEN SA’s The Run Home.

“Who’s going to have the number one pick in the pre-season draft? North Melbourne, but you don’t expect them to go down that path. Number two is West Coast.

“I’m hearing West Coast are quite prepared to call Rankine’s name in the pre-season draft if they have to.

“They (Crows) have to do the deal.”

Classic Rooch. Never even knew what was going on at Adelaide let alone Perth.

Never change Cocky.

Rochele is on the untouchable list for me. Humongous upside and could easily be as good as JHF. Powerful, confident and knows where the goals are. Injury is all that held him back this year.

Rankine will be picked by a club before us in the PSD, he's not going that route. We'll need to trade fairly and that means our first pick.

This is the real world, not BF play trades.

I think the crows should just say how desperate Rankine is to get home, for personal reasons.

This has to be the official line throughout.

Would be better obviously if Rankine said similar. This line is both true and should thrawt intestate clubs from making any sort of bid, either in trade or the PSD.
Completely at odds with what Rankine was saying publicly until a few weeks back when $4mill was suddenly put on the table. Gold Coast aren't idiots, they know why Rankine has suddenly changed his mind.

Watching that Yeeted guy’s posts in the Draft Board Rankine thread is tiring
He's a troll, literally ignore his posts.
Be interesting to see his comments if the trade happens for unders and we somehow keep our 1st round picks..he will go apoplectic
As above, he's a troll and just posts absolute garbage to try and get on people's nerves. If it happens he'll just disappear from the thread.

Talia just last year?
Crouch last year?

We sent in Talia for surgery much earlier than February

...which sounds good until you realize he played injured for 10 weeks, we only sent him for surgery a month after the season finished, his leg was so ****ed it caused a foot injury in the same leg which required surgery in April the following year, which ruled him out of the entire year and forced him into retirement.

So as you can see, no February surgery! Excellent player management!

Intestate clubs wouldn't be making a bid anyway, as they have no money. ;)

Not even close. No cigar Spackler.

The post was about delaying surgery until February or to be less precise, just before the season started.

This certainly occurred prior to the last three years.

Talia had knee surgery at the end of the 2020 season, made an excellent recovery and was about to start playing in April 2021 when he was diagnosed with a foot injury. This was a totally separate injury (foot tendon not connected to the knee bone). He had surgery on his foot but never recovered.

Crouch had hip surgery after the 2020 season. In May 2021 he had GROIN surgery and his groin problems have continued imho. Once again it was not a delay in having surgery on an existing problem, it was a new problem but possibly related to greater stress on his groins during the recovery from hip surgery.
