you cannot be serious? The kid played 3 games and has a huge upside..compared to the old piss-head who has 3 years left in him..Watts will be ten year player If anything you should give us a 2nd rounder. Fool.

Jack is a good athlete but he just doesn't have a football brain. Lacks awareness and composure. Should have stuck with basketball, probably.
I would not take a straight swap, Watts for Fev. A pick would need to be involved.

A fact that is particularly alarming given the state of Melbourne's list. If he cant break into that side there is something very wrong.

Wasn't it made clear at the start of the year.. that this year was all going to be focused on development for J.W? It has been stated countless times that his schooling was the main priority this year. But dw you'll be proven wrong next year when he plays more then 3 times!

Umm I don't think this is true. I think you just have to give them a 2 year contract but like any contracting player you can still trade them or terminate the contract (see Pfeffier a few years ago and some guy from Fremantle a couple of years ago). Bit silly from Port asking for Ryan Schoenmakers as well as pick#9 for Burgoyne if this is the case. You'd think their list manager would know the rules.

Yep. While the player is under contract for their first two years, he can be traded if all parties agree to it.

Seems the real reasons behind Fev's sacking keep on revealing themselves. (Alledgedly)
Those 'After-Brownlow Booty Calls' can be a trap.
But in the mean time I have heard Gary Lyon has been working the phones furiously trying to get the deal done. Part of which may be a role on Footy Classifieds each week to takeover from Caro.
Popular opinion seems to be that Gary would like the Big Fev in the team when he takes over the Senior Coaching role after Round 8 next year!
Good news though for young Jack........seems Bryce & Murph have already taken a likening to the youngster by taking him for a 'private steam' down at Visy Park to help him understand the expectations on him.
Should be a Press Conference from Sticks late this afternoon to confirm the trade. Stay tuned!
