This is dead-set corruption. I don't want to sound like a Looney Tunes character, but I bet it's all just to get back at Jeff Kennett because he doesn’t stand for the AFL's rubbish, virtue signalling. I thought James Merlino being on the board would actually help us, but it clearly hasn't.

Not that it really matters but it shouldn't need to effect his AA chances. If they decide he's the best performed then it shouldn't matter if he played less games. Stewart got in last year on that logic.
If he didn’t get one last season what hope his got this year, or any year he is a Hawthorn player you know, and his name is James Sicily

No way Bontempelli or Daicos would of got rub out for that, farcical

Pickett figuratively trying to kill someone, gets 2 weeks.
De Goey bumps and KOs someone, gets 3 weeks.
Sicily tackles, falling down, not in control, has no other reasonable option, and tries to do the recommended action of pulling someone on to you - 3 weeks.

The Sicily + Hawthorn tax in action folks!

Still can’t see how you can in any way compare Sicily’s actions to the above 2.

was the fact he pushed him afterwards mentioned?
i mean if Sicily had of got the insense sticks out, warmed a towel and some herbal tea for McCluggage would it have helped his cause?

honestly sounds like a stitch job from the start. imagine if real evidence from a whistleblower was ever released of internal proceedings at AFL house.

I could have understood 1 week given the outcome. But what exactly is Sicily meant to do here?

He’s lunging in a desperate tackle.
He pulls the player to him.
McCluggage has control of both his arms the whole time.
Brockman comes flying in over the top.
It's all one motion.
We had the testimony of a biomechanical lecturer that Sicily lost control of the tackle due to outside intervention.

And he’s been banned for the same amount of time as players that go past the ball to KO their opponents. Absolutely farcical and I hope we appeal.

This is how I feel right now.

In addition, Sic was pushed into McCluggage by a Lions player which gave him extra momentum at the the point of tackle. All totally ignored.

The game as we knew it is gone. Give it a few seasons and you wont be able to tackle an opponant to ground .
Thats where we are heading now.

Feel for Sis , absolutely fall guy here . Must appeal .
Mention it somewhere, it will eventually become a non contact sport

Over the years my interest in AFL has taken a dive, don’t listen to radio any more, barely watch the footy shows, only watch if I know that someone from Hawthorn is on and only watch the Hawthorn games now

I just spoke to Purple. We both agreed that this is a form of tanking. I mean Sicily has gone out and deliberately sling tackled to get reported and suspended so that he does not have to play, thereby ensuring a loss and consequent improvement in the draft position. We also agreed that the Hawks should be penalised this years first and second round draft picks plus 2024 and 2025 first round picks.
