Don't think we need Narkle, would rather give one of our youngsters games in George's position. Selfless by George but maybe he realized his chances of playing first team football were slim. Plenty ahead of him in the picking order IMO.

Will always remember my 2 favourite Georgie games. The Gold Coast game when he kicked 5.0 and the 2019 Grand Final when he kicked 0.5 and 1 out on the full. Classic Georgie! No other player could create anywhere near the same level of emotions as Georgie. The oppo didn't know what Georgie was doing, his teamates didn't know and Georgie sure as hell didn't know. You went from high to low....back up.......pensive..........then primal scream of either anguish or delight.

Thanks Georgie for the memories. Best wishes for the future. We will miss the chaos king!

Well despite my opinion on his current value to the team, he was part of a group that gave us the ultimate success. Thanks George and you’ll always be part of a special group and given long suffering fans a reason to be arrogant again.

always putting the team first right until the end

If George was a more reliable kick for goal he would still have half a decade of his career still to come. Sadly, he was overtaken first by one, then another until he's now so far down the pecking order that there was little chance of making it back.

For me though, I think it was Castagna, Butler and Rioli who turned our game plan around. His pressure and defensive desperation, helped inspire the rest of the side to fight away from laughing stocks to multiple flag winners.

My favourite George story is the ultimate table tennis tournament he had with Butler and now sports a lovely tattoo on his buttock as a result.

Guys, spoke to a source inside the club. Jason retired due to “winning fatigue”. Poor guy won so much that mentally he couldn’t take it anymore. It’s a real thing. I hope he can recover soon.
