Just speculating but had the hamstring injury, probably had others ahead of him and would've struggled for a game, unlikely to have been offered a new contract, gets paid out for the year, gives another guy an opportunity at the mid season draft and can start on his next chapter 12 months early. A selfless move much like his on field contributions

Despite his inconsistencies always gave maximum effort and pressure and was a great contributor to our successes especially in 2017-2019
If you choose to retire I don’t think you get paid unless it’s significant injury that stops your career

Bloody hell. Not only do you all hang s**t on him constantly which may have led to this decision but when he retires, you question why he didn't do it sooner so we could have taken someone else.
Now I'm not saying that it's not a valid question but how about, as an outlandish idea, instead of potting the bloke on the way out we are a bit more supportive of a three time premiership player who could have won a Norm Smith if he kicked straight.
The guy has given his all to the RFC and should be treated with the respect he deserves on his way out.

Have a bit of class about yourselves.

Classy finish, Chaos King. Lifetime member and Flag(s) hero, Rising Star nominee and 5 of the best behinds in a Granny.

Good onya George, luv ya

His misses in 2019 make more sense now.

Only player in history to complete the complete sheet in his first 3 Grand Finals.

2017 Goal with no behinds

2019. Behinds with no goal

2020 Goal & Behind

He would have ****ed that royally if he converted any of those “near” misses in 2019. :)

Wish the coaches boned him prior to letting Narkle go. Was the right decision. Glad the club did what they had to. Hopefully his fan boys support him by getting a Tatt off him 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Why is everyone wanting Narkle? Everyone's acting like he's some sort of superstar. He ended up on bummers VFL list, should tell you something.
100% even without Georgie we will have a lot of competition for spots for those small forward roles!

Rolli, Cumbo and Clarke as your traditional smalls and throw in Cotch, Bolton, Tanranto and Dusty undoubtedly spending minutes forward

Sonsie could easily play a role in the forward line along with the new bloke Campbell could play some games

it’s not as if losing Castagna leaves us short handed

"Selfish of me to continue with no passion" before denying Richmond a replacement player. lol

I'm tipping he hated the culture of your club and pothead coach.
I'm sure the masses will soon attack you with copious amounts of vitriol.
Let me by one of the first by saying you're an absolute flog of the highest order and I hope you get absolutely torn to pieces by our board.

Classless prick.

Guys, spoke to a source inside the club. Jason retired due to “winning fatigue”. Poor guy won so much that mentally he couldn’t take it anymore. It’s a real thing. I hope he can recover soon.

stupid comment to say it was an easy way out, workin has butt off and doing a hammy may have been one of the contributing factors to his decision, plus discussions on his likelyhood of being a regular gig in 2023 and recent marriage and starting a family.... plus imbecile supporters  criticising him if he got back in the seniors and same ones crying and up him for being good in the 2s and being a good depth but still clogging up the list would have weighed heavily on him
and affected his love and desire to keep 100%.

bloke was on a hiding to nothing so he called time. respect.

10 times i wanted to throttle him over the years but 100 times I wanted to hug him for his deeds. contributed to 3 premierships so well done George.
Well said,,very well said 👏 👍 👌 🙌
