"Selfish of me to continue with no passion" before denying Richmond a replacement player. lol

I'm tipping he hated the culture of your club and pothead coach.
And who the **** are you dickhead
**** off

Just think if he actually did the opposite like Constanza did in that Seinfeld episode and kicked 5 snags in the granny he’d be retiring as a norm smith winner

Will never forget 2017 and his role in that side. Thanks for the chaos Georgie

A culture that had him a 3 time premiership player. Not a bad investment for a player who was an average player.

Boyds departure after one premiership maybe fuelled a bit by guys like Stringer giving it to him from what I heard.

I’ll let Bevo know your thoughts next time I see him at the Palms in the gaming lounge getting the 9.95 parma

Cotch, junior rioli, there's a few up forward this year so I think he was going to spend most of the year in the 2s. If his body is still good then it's a wise move, retire before your knees give out and you can still run in the park with your kids.

Very strange timing. No doubt the constant hate on his social media from muppet fans played a huge role in this decision. Getting daily messages telling you how shit you are would drain on anyone. And that is pretty a leniant version of how aggressive some fans get.

These players are human like the rest of us. Never understood the George hate either. People carried on like he belonged in the bush league.

Was a good goal kicker, one of the better pressure small forwards at his best. His form tailed off but If he is your 23-30th best player your list then it is in pretty good shape. All the best to him and appreciate what he did for the club.

The role George played is a young man’s game, relentless pressure and repeat sprints back and forward trying to turn defence in to offence week in week out is just not sustainable. Unfortunately for him he didn’t have the skill set to be any more than what he was and inevitably the younger guys go past you. At the end of the day their are not that many defensive small forwards that go onto to be a 200 gamer, you need to have that real natural football ability and goal sense to get that far. I am not surprised after 3 flags and 130 odd games playing this role, knowing full well he would be relying on injuries to get a game he has lost some motivation. George got the absolute best out of his strengths as a footballer, he was limited but to me will always be a premiership hero.

Guys, spoke to a source inside the club. Jason retired due to “winning fatigue”. Poor guy won so much that mentally he couldn’t take it anymore. It’s a real thing. I hope he can recover soon.
Yeah those 3 premiership medallions would be a heavy burden around the neck.

Well said, it's really the only conclusion we can draw given how many players that role has burned out. The only one still playing from that era now is Butler and he more often than not looks a shadow of his former self (I'm sure it's not just the jumper!).

I always have the softest spots for the battler players who work their guts out to get a crack and play every game like it's their last - good old Georgie Chaos Castagna fitted that mould as well as any over the years.

In an era where there's increasingly fewer characters in the game, he was a joy to watch and I enjoyed every minute of his footy - including the ones where my hands were over my eyes or my head in my hands.

Enjoy the next chapter Triple Premiership Legend. :thumbsu::richmond:

Is it just me, or are the Alpine Angels spectacularly salty now the reality that they still won't get to see their side win a flag at the 'G for decades has set in? ;)

I think he has been told there is a few blokes in front of him and that he will struggle to get a game so he took an easy way out instead of working his butt off to get in the team

Read the tea leaves - no shame in that
