Like another #5, Polly Farmer, Jeremy Cameron came to the club as an already highly-regarded recruit.

Like Polly he struggled with injury in his first year at Geelong.

Like Polly he went a huge way to delivering a premiership in his 2nd year with Geelong.

Maybe only Brad Ottens compares with Cameron for Geelong in the AFL era.

Depends on your parameters - as usual I am probably marking him harshly - his 2022 Finals series was Brilliant, let me be unequivocal.

Apart from being a tall left-footer who donned the #5 for Geelong, Polly and Cameron were recruited from other clubs as senior players and both key components of Premiership teams within their first two years of playing for Geelong. Ultimately it's a trivial distinction; Dangerfield and Cameron were both huge parts of Geelong's Tenth Premiership.

There are others going further back who had similar claims; George Moloney came across from Claremont in 1931 and kicked 74 goals that year as the Cats won their 2nd flag (he of course topped the ton the following season).

John Watts was big on GF day in 1963; he'd come across from WA to play with former teammate Polly Farmer...

Tommy Quinn is a hugely overlooked figure in our history imo; he came across from Port Adelaide in 1931 and was a key figure in that year's Geelong Premiership and then won his 2nd B+F with the club during the 1937 Premiership year, of which he was a key component yet again.

Anyway; Cameron is in very very fine company whichever way you look at it ... I'll spare you the re-cap on Geoff Williams and Norm Sharp coming to the club in 1952, fascinating though it is

The Emu certainly is a character, absolutely rapt he chose to come to Geelong. Helped deliver us premiership no.10 in his 2nd year at the club. The trade has already paid off not that their were any doubts about it at the time, we got him in a pretty good deal all things considered.

Meanwhile the swans are 0-3 in GFā€™s since acquiring Buddy at the end of 2013, Iā€™m sure they wouldā€™ve hoped to have atleast 1 flag in their cabinet during Buddyā€™s time there.

Keeping with the theme of the Geelong Football Club fielding the oldest team in VFL/AFL history by playing in the 2022 Grand Final and WINNING, along with 'old man emu' aka Jezza being a 'Mad Monday' stand-out. GO CATTERS, 2022 PREMIERS !!!

Jezza cow getting he's PS medal lol.

But the story makes sence .

Jezza mate wanted to go to the GF .
Jezza said yiu can have my ticket if you give me some cows.

The guy with the cows got lost a few times .
Then called Jezza saying he got the car stuck in mud .late in the night .

MĆ²ooooo.

Jezza has already more than satisfied the cost, but it could somehow look even better in a couple of weeks.

How amazing is it? We give up 3 first round picks and we're about to get two of them back in Henry and Bruhn.

Jezza, Norm, Holmes, Bruhn, Henry....2020 is an off-season for the ages.

Bowes was a high pick aswell .

But you compared cameron to ottens and ottens was around for many years before he won us a flag. So if he is comparable to ottens why not danger? Danger won a brownlow has been a vastly superior player to ottens.

Ottens came to us after 2004. Played half of 2005 injured, played 2006. Won a flag 2007.
By my reckoning that is only one season longer than Cameronā€™s time at Geelong thus far.
