Our fixture for the preseason really does suck balls when you look at it

We play in butt**** NSW on Saturday 18/2 which is a massive travel burden requiring a flight to Sydney then another to Wagga with a one hour bus trip to round it off. Something like that anyway. The game also starts at 2.05 in the afternoon in outback NSW. The temperature there tomorrow is forecast at 43. Smart

In their infinite wisdom the AFL are then sending us to Geraldton the next Saturday 25/2 to play freo in their first game. At least it's starting at 3.40 so might be a little cooler

We then wait 12 days for our next game at Subi against Melbourne which is on a Thursday 9/3 at 5.40. The only opportunity to see us play in Perth is a Thursday night. Good one

Our round one game is on 26/3 so between our second JLT game and our season opener we have only one match in 4 weeks (for the record north have the same so it's fair in that respect)

There's no logic to our schedule at all

The trip to Narrandera for a WA club is bullshit, but to be fair, I think 17 other teams have this situation as well.

That's a premiership pre season if I've ever seen one.

Oops. Missed a bit in that sentence

Between our 2nd JLT game on 25/2 and our Round 1 match on 26/3 we play only one game in a 4 week period so it doesn't bring us into the season with much rhythm

Seven other clubs have a similar situation to us including North. The other 10 clubs play their 2nd JLT game on the first weekend in March so have less of a gap between games

I thought you meant the gap in games but didn't check out the other teams like North to verify.

Fremantle don't leave the jurisdiction all JLT. But anyway, perhaps our younger contingent can bond on the long journey and in the end it'll be good.

As far as the game goes, hopefully we get enough midfield supply to see Allen, Lamb, Misty and Rioli give us some positive signs of the future of our forward line.

I would love to see Lamb, Willie & Rioli demand a spot R1

Lamb won't push shit.

Let's hope I'm wrong.

Willie has a good preseason and he's locked into Rnd 1.

Hill will be the most under pressure.

So the Eagles are playing this week...

I was really looking forward to seeing Rioli. But with his injury, I'm most looking forward to seeing:
- Parti, didn't get to see him much at WAFL level and think he will do well
- Vardy, just hope he gets through the game and shows something
- Rotham, always good to see someone for the first time
- Sheed, expecting big things this season
- Karps, hopefully he can get a bit of the ball
- Lamb, Allen and Waterman - be good to see what our next tier can deliver
- Watson, I want to see that silky disposal
