No reason why we can't win a flag this year I predicted last season was always going to be a hangover year. Very optimistic this year as long as the coaches don't be so stubborn or head strong so to speak too not change or tweak the game plan as it evolves through out the year. Sometimes saying playing our way is not the best option sometimes playing another teams way can win the chocolates !!

You'd assume someone at the club has had words with Simo and the crew about being brutally out coached by Beveridge against the bullies. Lets hope Simpson and the crew have taken it upon them selves to try be more flexible and have a plan B or C if things go pear shaped.

Ironically he laid 0 tackles though, so the whole 'lack of pressure' thing is somewhat validated!

Not suggesting he wouldn't get a gig at another team though
Hard to lay a tackle when the opposition don't have the ball though

This is true

I think the total tackle count for the match was about 50 between the two teams, which is saying something

I remember him saying it at the time. I think he was trying to say that having huge amounts of quality on one team can cover for players that have deficiency in certain areas. The thing about Mitchell is the areas in his game he lacks (pace) can actually be covered by his own exceptional abilities in other areas, footy smarts, ability to create space and great disposal.

I get his point about some players when moved to different teams struggle because of the supporting cast, just in Mitchell's case he missed the mark

We won the tackle count 41-34 despite having 415 disposals to 214

Witches hats doesn't come close to accurately describing the effort level of Fremantle

Honestly I think pace is one of the most overrated attributes in the game. So many duds that can run fast and plodders who are champions. A well placed kick or handball is faster then any runner.

Agreed. You need a few quicks on the outside wings and maybe a forward or two to really put the pressure on any over lap but disposal, core strength for breaking tackles, footy smarts and quick reactions are all much better
