Agreed. You need a few quicks on the outside wings and maybe a forward or two to really put the pressure on any over lap but disposal, core strength for breaking tackles, footy smarts and quick reactions are all much better
i think he was talking about individual players. Team wise you need a whole array of different players. I think our midfield balance this year will be best its been for a while. If we had a fit NN then we would be probably premiership favourites.

Sam Mitchell proves you don't need speed when you have footy smarts, skill and class.

That being said he's quick enough over the first 5-6 steps and is strong bull who's hard to tackle.

It was Basil on 6PR, so not sure if true, but apparently they're resurfacing Subi oval following the concerts and it's touch and go if the ground will be ready for the JLT games next Thursday and Friday. There are contingency plans in place which i presume would be Leederville for us and Fremantle oval for the dockers which I think is a double header with their AFLW team

Intraclub definitely at Leedy then you'd think

Channel 7 last night said that West Coast were fully preparing for the game against Melbourne to be at Leederville. 5000 sqm or something like that of turf to be relaid. Can't see it taking and be stable enough to play on within ~7 days. Not great for our preparation, I imagine we would like to have a hit out at Subi to adjust the game plan for the year to the dimensions of Subi.

I'm no turf expert but I wouldn't think there's any hope of the turf knitting together sufficiently in a week for it to be safe to play on

Melb wouldve loved a hitout on Subi as well, in the same way we'd embrace a preseason game at the G. They play us at Domain later in the year. And wow just looking at their fixture they dont leave Melb until Round 8!

Wasn't Jetta a turf layer pre draft? Or was that Pickett?

These preseason games are such a willie tease. They've gotten me so hyped for the season, but it's still so far :(
It's only going to get worse - it's 17 days after Thursday's JLT game before we play our round 1 game against north

Maybe this year it's MFC's turn for the AFL trying to buy them a premiership, like the Bulldogs last year:rolleyes:

No evidence of Jack Darling & Adele being in the same place at the same time.

Jack Darling is Adele. Confirmed.

Don't know if this has already been posted but i remember someone talking about a replay of last weeks game that only starts from the end of the last quarter. I just found this and it is also much better quality to the other replay.

Watching it again. First quarter their half forward line Yeo absolutely smashes figjam in a tackle. Also second q just after Gaff got bumped in the back shuey picked up and handball to vardy, the lead up to recieving the handball from shuey was great work by vardy

People seem to like the idea of going with on two tall defenders and many have mentioned Yeo or shep filling in that spot. I was wondering whether Jackson Nelson might be another one that could play as a third tall. 187cm and no longer a skinny teen he seems like someone who could line up on a taller opponent. I saw his beat appense in a 1v1 the other day as well. if Yeo goes back into defence i want him to play as a rebounding flanker taking the game on and also pushing onto a wing and even to the middle at times. So i wouldn't really mind seeing bunga, shep snd nelson taking the third tall on occasions.

Early on i wasnt impressed with Yeo but he worked into the game. He has hit they gym and looks very Biggie but im hoping that hasn't affected his already weak tank.
