Preview John Worsfold Medal - 2016 Winner - Luke Shuey!

So it's that time again, club champion awards for 2016. Last year saw our best outside running mid poll 210 votes edging out the 2014 Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis on 206. So who will take home chocolates this year?

- Gaff polled the most Brownlow votes of any Eagle in 2016, good indication he will go back to back?
- Shuey had a stellar year and arguably should have polled higher in the Brownlow. Definitely a fan favourite (thanks fidstar for your work) but will the club agree?
- Kennedy snagged a back-to-back Coleman kicking 80 in a team that was up and down all year. Arguably our most important player and was key in us finishing 6th with 16 wins.
- Priddis had another solid year bagging 17 votes in the Brownlow, he should feature in the top 5 but has he done enough?

Winner: My money is on JK, the man, the myth, the legend.
Dark Horse: The Gov, AA, best intercept marker in the game.

Barrass a lock for Rookie of the Year. Ellis to get the Mainy Medal. Don't know if they'll award Player of the Finals for only one game in which no one showed up, but if they do then Gaff to win that just on the basis of getting 35 touches.

Well I for one don't agree - Gaff was good in patches but he was a bit inconsistent over the whole season. Was very rusty in the early stages (may have been carrying an injury of some kind) then came good followed by his concussion. Took him awhile to come good again after the concussion, then finished strongly. Not sure how consistent Shuey has been? Have a feeling it will be either the Guv or second choice Kennedy?
