Agree 100% with this, there have been similar situations with clubs that were affiliated with Essendon and Hawthorn during their respective Puma sponsored periods have seen similar jumper made up.

With Essendon, not sure the club, but it was in the NSW state league. Jumper is specifically made up for this club, all logos sublimated, so not an Essendon jumper being re-used. But still had the Essendon tape around the collar.

Also remember seeing a jumper that was being used by one of the junior footy clubs that play their footy near Glenferrie oval. Had Hawthorn FC tape around the collar.

North Shore FC, Gore Hill Oval, Sydney AFL.

Why does it have the Union Flag, St. Patrick's Cross, St. Andrews Cross and the Red Dragon?
If the Union Flag was replaced by St. George's Cross it would make sense.

Clearly, the question was along the lines of what is the flag of England? and they didn't know the answer.

2007/2008 prototype I reckon. 2007 was the first year that the AFL/Adidas tag was used. Plus I've never seen that tag next to the Adidas size tag, usually that tag would be on top of the size tag - not next to it (if that makes sense).

Found the ones I've got. The first one, is like the one on ebay

This is like the jumper on eBay. Made on a replica template with the cotton collar an cuffs. I got this one off eBay, around 10 years ago.

This is the other one I have, made on player issue template. With the side panels and 'unfinished' type of arm openings. Previous poster is correct that the tagging is that of 2007 although the actual style of jumper is 2006 with that finish on the arm openings. The following season they were finished a bit better. This jumper was purchased from Adidas's outlet in Colingwood, again, would have been around 10 years ago.

Just found this on eBay, says it's from 2005 but I never recall the cuffs being white?

I saw this the other day actually and was going to post it. The join on the back is really bad and there are no tags anywhere, either at the bottom of the jumper or the inside collar. I doubt someone would mock it up and **** it up that much because from memory it's barely going for a hundred bucks but who knows, could have ended up at an op shop and someone's put it online.

I remember seeing on here a bunch of drafts of freo jumpers and logos. Was wondering if there are any floating around for the giants or suns. Would be great to compare with the older expansion teams.

I know this. I know this.
And I have some involvement in its correction.

Back in 2005 this was mocked up for Heritage Round.
This was made off a Neil Cordy footy card
s-l225.jpg

Neil was at the time, a boundary rider for Channel Ten, and was probably the only Footscray reference the Sydney based designers at Azuma (The Bulldogs apparel sponsor) knew.
This was made mostly to give the club some information about the suggested placement of the LeasePlan sponsor logos.
The LeasePlan logo sat directly under the thin White band
62049.jpg

With the original (Heritage) bands being much wider, the LeasePlan logo was going to be lower, and therefore harder to read.
LeasePlan approved the lower placement of the logo and they went ahead with the design

However, and this is where it becomes about ME, staff from the Bulldogs asked them about the collar and cuffs.
Having not known, they guessed.
One of the Bulldogs staff was my counterpart at the Australian Football Heritage Group, and asked me for information on what the Dogs jumpers looked like in the 1970s.
I understood this to be the colour TV 70s version, so I sent them this image.
I informed them that the collars were Red on the top section, White on the bottom section, and the cuffs were Red.

This is, of course, the wrong design, it should be
Footscray-1970.gif

with Red Collar and Cuffs.
Once I found out it was the original design, which was used until 1974 I attempted to correct them.
Alas, they had approved the new version of the 75 collars.
The Heritage jumpers ended up a mish mash of eras.

I had not seen that jumper before, I have only had it described to me.
