I like Peter Bell but if JLo departs at seasons end it's probably time for Belly to go to.
He’s already been moved sideways into some bullshit role away from the actual football so that’s a start.

Oh, absolutely it’s on them, the fact they were soo angry at the end of the trade period having heated discussions in the hallway in front of all the other clubs and some journalists indicates they would have folded and made the trade for F3, they were trying to bank points and being campaigners about it, but would have done the deal.Maybe, feels like they just wanted to be dicks though. Might be tinted with purple glasses here but feels like
- We discussed in good faith through the period, GC wouldnt move on the future 2nd
- We said there is no way we are doing that and said we'll revisit it later after our other trades
- GC refused to budge and decided to wait for us to come to them (which we didnt have time for).
Always felt like they saw a chance with Acres leaving to get one back on us after the Brayshaw thing and it bit them in the arse because we werent stupid enough to cave. He was contracted so being petty was their prerogative.
Given they banished him, delisted him and he still signed with us (no grudge held with us on his end), I'm gonna blame this one on them
Do you think it would have been wise to match the 500K and keep Logue as 'cover'?I Logue in the squad for cover. Not too fussed though. Acres was criminal.
I agree that the 2025 target shouldn't be laid at JL's feet. It is a club leadership issue, which he is a part of so should have some accountability. A larger portion should be with Garlick, previously Bell and the board.
I think we offered 500k, at least that was the chat at the time. North offered north of 700k (I was told 800k but happy to take some off the top for added sauce), it was definitely suicide to offer that much and was never happeningDo you think it would have been wise to match the 500K and keep Logue as 'cover'?
Agree with all of this.I'm disappointed we lost Acres and Schultz as they would both be quite important now (Logue as back up for injured Chapman but that's not realistic). That is all.
Meanwhile we traded in the unicorn, Clark, Aish, Sharp, JOM, Brodie, who are, or have been, or will be integral in our 22 and currently on our list.
Must be February when the sky falls in cause not sure what the issue is. Every team loses players. The AFL actively encourages it.
Just because the West likes to pump it up, not sure we need to get sucked in and think heads should roll.
Really?? Holy shit.I think we offered 500k, at least that was the chat at the time. North offered north of 700k (I was told 800k but happy to take some off the top for added sauce), it was definitely suicide to offer that much and was never happening
Colon would have told them $500k.
I'm sure it was said elsewhere we offered 500k in the end and with the cap space North have I struggle to believe they "only" offered 500k. If it was any other paper I'd concede my number was completely wrong tbh but given it's the West, who knows

Good call. Yeah. No way we were keeping him for what North offered.I thought the full story was we went in low early in the year. He then started to look around and was offered ridiculous money.
If that version is true we could have got him lower. It seems to have been the same story with acres.
$500k would have been overs but ok given the cap will increase. What North are reportedly paying is ridiculous, and good on him for getting it.
Whilst this will most likely end up being right, I cannot see him being sacked before 2/3 of the way through the season.Longmuir needs the team to do well in the first 6 rounds, otherwise he is Toast
There's not a great deal of incentive to move a coach earlier unless either he's toxic and/or the replacement is available straight away with little to no process.Whilst this will most likely end up being right, I cannot see him being sacked before 2/3 of the way through the season.
Without looking how possible this is (i.e. fixtures), in the scenario he starts 1-5 or 2-4 he could still win the majority of the next ten or so games.
In 2006 there was talk of Chris Connolly being sacked but we then won 10 in a row or something like that and made top four. It was a false dawn in a way but there was no way he was getting sacked after that initially.
You wouldn't think so but we've been there before!0-10 shudder.
No way we lose to the scum so we will be at worst 1-9.
The first 6 aren't a walk in the park, If we win at least two of those we are ok. Split them and we are in a great position.

Acres wasn't criminal. He's had 2 good years running up and down the wing of a very good football team. Up to that point the top 20 draft pick had been a very ordinary player for 7 or 8 years.I Logue in the squad for cover. Not too fussed though. Acres was criminal.

Agreed. If we're serious about getting something from the year it has to be 3-3 as the low water mark. Beat the two cellar dwellers and pinch one of the other four games against good teams. Since two of those four are at Optus and one is on neutral (gather round) territory, 3-3 is a fair expectationWe have both West Coast and North Melbourne in the first six rounds. If we’re not 2-4 based off those games alone JL would probably be about $1.05 to get sacked.
I think there’s one or two other winnable games in between that so hopefully it’s 3-3 or even 4-2 tbh.

Isn't that Comben fella that's always injured the one? Recruited as a forward but being trained as a backGenuine question while we talk about them, who is Norths two key backs with Logie injured? Corr and…
Refusing McDonald and Curtin, they must be deathly afraid of WA draftees or something
Yeah him and those two dudes they picked up in the MSD and UFA - Dawson? and Pinker?Isn't that Comben fella that's always injured the one? Recruited as a forward but being trained as a back
