Latest Clarko rumour I've heard - he stayed at Alcock's holiday home recently and is unhappy with the current culture developing at the Hawks.

(Don't shoot the messenger - and take with a grain of salt)

I am currently trying to compile enough salt so that I can actually accept this rumour... I'm not there yet but I appreciate the report.

Who is coaching FREO.
What's the latest goss.
Surely not Sumich.
Why not chase Worsfold, [please]
Plenty good options about.

*** Clarkson Update***
I have checked in with my source regarding any more Clarkson news.

I’ve been told absolutely nothing more regarding the property he was looking at and any connection with the dockers.

Not looking promising gang.

Sounds like an NDA to me!

Heard Clarko was spotted wearing a Coco + Boho cap and sharing a heartfelt hug with Burgoyne on Glenferrie Rd. Sorry Hawks fans...heard it from a friend of a friend.

Not sure why you guys wouldn't be looking at Don Pyke. A lot of Crows supporters liked him, he was just surrounded by an abundance of spud assistants. Took us to a GF

The bolded bit was mentioned elsewhere a month or so ago which made me wonder if he was linked to Freo

Michelangelo Rucci is hearing word that Scott Burns is already preparing a coaching staff for a potential senior role.

The former Collingwood midfielder is being strongly linked with the Adelaide Crows vacancy while remaining loosely hitched to the open post at Fremantle.

According to what Rucci is being told, the current Hawthorn assistant is attempting to assemble his personnel for a top job.

“The interesting thing that is being said around the place for more than a fortnight, I’ll relay it as it’s relayed to me,” he said on SEN SA’s Kymbo & the Rooch.

“Scott Burns has been saying to certain assistant coaches around the competition, ‘Do not sign a deal at your club because you’re coming with me to a major job’.

“That’s what’s being said. Now is that at Adelaide or is that at Fremantle?

“He’s on a promise somewhere by the sounds of it.”

Co-host Kym Dillon responded: “If it’s factually right, he’s clearly in it up to his eyeballs if that’s the case.”

Rucci and Dillon then pondered another name that could potentially be in the mix to replace Don Pyke at the Crows.

Dillon said: “Will we see a late play for David Noble after that compelling case by Terry Wallace?”

To which Rucci replied: “That was very strong.

“The I more listen to that, the more I’m convinced it’s the way to go. It’s an endorsement.

“It’s got so many good things about it. He knows the landscape he’s entering, he becomes a calming influence on a club that needs it, (he’s) experienced, (has) understanding of what the role requires and what South Australia is all about.

“Give me a reason why you wouldn’t do it?”

Pardon the intrusion ... Given the traditional sentiments about Peter Sumich, along the lines of:
I don’t want our first flag to be tainted by having any ex-Eagle flog in charge. That should instantly disqualify. Next.

... I was pretty curious about whether the perceptions had changed much after his recent comments on the Willie Rioli thing.
At a purely superficial level I figured it would play pretty well among the Freo faithful - a la:
I enjoyed his comments about the Eagles having others likely on the gear aside from just Willie (he is firstly making the assumption that Willie is on the gear). Either way gets a big 👍🏻

I appreciate some good inter-club trolling as much as the next guy.
But I also think it was a particularly poor piece of judgement on his part to weigh in the way he did. That seems to be the more prevalent reaction here as well. eg.
Surely Sumich stirring stuff about the Eagles won't go over very well with the panel looking to pick our next coach? He's giving everyone a glimpse of his true self..

Not that I expect any benefit of the doubt for the Eagles' "culture" or whatever, but I still think he was drawing a pretty long bow. That kind of pure speculation might be par for the course for the AFL media these days, but for a guy with senior coaching aspirations I think it's some very poor judgement. (Not Rioli-level-poor, granted).

A couple of weeks ago I figured Longmuir was a formality but this has become an interesting race now with some good names in the mix. Latest odds I saw still had Suma as 2nd-favourite, which surprised me a little. The troll in me is still barracking for him to get the gig, but I think it's very unlikely. I mean if for whatever reason J-Lo didn't impress, then even ignoring the other potential candidates you'd take Pyke over Sumich in a heartbeat, surely.

I think Sumich’s comments played well with certain media, but just shows how poor he is at the media. He would have been better to stay quiet. It maybe true, but won’t help his case for a coaching role.
Fans don’t won’t him at Freo.

J-Lo should be favourite, I’d go Pyke for head of coaching.

If that was Suma making a pitch for the job, surely we should consider Daniel Chick first - he's much better at trolling the Eagles ;)

Seriously, just demonstrates why Suma is not the person for a head coaching gig - he would be chewed up and spat out by the media because he is just not smart enough to think on the fly. I'm sure there are roles he would excel at, as apparently he does have some footy nous, just nothing where he is the mouthpiece for the club.

Would make Mark Harvey sound like JFK.
