Yep. It was very evident from my seat in the game against North. Seemed so obvious it was a completely stupid way to play and is one reason I have zero faith in JL. He needs to either completely change his gameplan (good luck trying that mid season) or we need a new coach ASAP.

I would also say that Bell needs to go as well. You can have him at North (there was some talk end of last year that could be on the cards).
Yeah I noticed it against the Saints and had some pretty horrible flashbacks, but thought that might have just been Ross Lyon doing what he does to other coaches. I couldn't believe that anyone would consciously adopt that style and structure, especially not a side who performed well last year and are on the rise.

Didn't say anything as I watched the match against us and then West Coast, but seeing this four rounds in a row, it just has to be instruction and I feel sorry for the players trying to implement it.

How many of these losses do we have to have before they'll move on him? Cos I reckon there is a boatload more coming this year. We haven't played anyone good yet, which is the scary part.

Loads of losses are needed before he’ll be moved on. Probably more than a seasons worth. He’s never really been under pressure before, even if he’s deserved to be. So there’ll be a lot of ‘backing in the coach’ from the boys in charge before they get a clue.

This is just the start of a long painful wait to get a decent coach in.

Healy just said 6 out of 32 rebounds became inside 50s...

I know you are right and its so depressing.

Seriously did they even interview Craig McCrae? I can't believe our talent is significantly different than Collingwood and with the same attitude & game style we could be infinity better.
No idea but if we are being fair, the talent might be comparable but the maturity difference is stark.

By the time JL gets sacked, we should be getting close to the right list demographics.

2 things that will kill a leader are stubbornness despite overwhelming evidence you are on the wrong path and cowardice. JL2 is demonstrating oodles of both. Stubbornness in picking the same plan and the wrong people to execute it and cowardice in taking risks with a failed gameplan. His lack of ability to come up with a counter is disturbing but can be overcome if neither of the other 2 things exist. With him they don't only exist they dominate.

The concurrent issue we have here is that JL2's success or otherwise is directly linked to the ego of Peter Bell. Changing course will be an admission he was wrong to target JL2 so far out rather than have a decent look. That type of admission is not in Bell's wheelhouse. Nor is it in Dale's who is complicit in that too.

I wasn't pro or anti Lyon at the end, but those who were so vociferous in their hatred of him cannot argue with the fact that with the onfield stuff there isn't one thing you could hate about the Lyon teams at the end that JL2 isn't doing and doing worse. Too defensive, tick, playing favourites, TICK, not developing youth, tick, no plan B, TICK, easy to gameplan against, TICK.

The only difference is JL2 is doing it with a MUCH better list which makes his failures much worse.

Just a matter of waiting for him to get sacked. Might not be until next year, a long wait in footy terms

There have honestly been plenty of signs that he’s not up to it. But thanks to the ‘jury being out’ in his first couple of years and then a well timed jump to finals last year (still red flags though) he’s somehow avoided the pressure gauge. It’s gonna be a long wait.

He won’t be sacked because it means Peter Bell and his massive ego would also have to go.

Don’t underestimate the impact of Logue
and Acres being forced out had on the Playing group two very popular team mates.

If JLO was sacked this week the club would be a better place.
