Karl Amon hey? Left footed midfielder, 180cm...and speed.

We're not going to be slow anymore, I guess.

A medium midfielder/forward with a penetrating left foot and exciting speed. Strong overhead for his size and has excellent endurance. Represented Victoria Metro in the AFL Under-18 Championships in 2013.

Blessed with terrific speed, evasiveness and a stunning left foot, Karl Amon’s season for the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup was only hurt by the fact the Dragons missed out on finals, depressing for the fact that Amon is simple a big-time player, who would have relished September action. Nonetheless, Amon’s season has seen a significant step in his development, as he has advanced from a smallish forward opportunist type, into a damaging and versatile midfielder which has done wonders for his draft rankings come November. Amon stands at 180cms, and has largely avoided the stigma of the “small forward” tag, which has been abolished given his strengths, especially in his elite kicking and his brilliant overhead marking. Amon demonstrated on more than one occasion just how much he back’s his speed, taking on the game and zigzagging through the oppositions midfield to deliver not only a lace out pass to a leading forward, but create excitement, x-factor and really ignite the game. Amon is the type of player who has the ability to swing the momentum of games, especially when he has a few quick damaging possessions in a row, more often they are deadly – whether that amount in a goal or a goal assist, there is just so much to like about Amon. With elite disposal efficiency, line-breaking pace and able to hurt the opposition in an array of ways, Amon has the tools of the trade to be turned into a half forward or back flanker, with the ability to add to midfield rotations.

Good luck to him, brilliant kid.

I am family friends with him and he and his family are absolutely stoked. He has talent, look forward to his football in the next couple of years.

Tell me everything you know about him please.

How consistent has he been? What team did he support growing up? Any injuries? Coke or Pepsi? Credit card details?

Very consistent player. Plays as a medium/small forward and can go into the middle. Has got good pace, great left foot kick. Reads the play extremely well. Exciting.

I'm pretty sure he went for the bombers, but that will change.

As every kid does, I think he broke his arm once in around grade 7.

Coke.

Maybe not credit card details.

Oh and I forgot to mention, he works extremely hard on and off the field.

He definitely sounds very promising considering he was picked at 68.

Welcome to the club mate.
