If you are having a two division league with relegation/promotion I would be keen!

16 teams would need like squads of 40.. and perhaps only best-18 on field (5/5/1/5/3)?

21 round season plus 2 week Final season (top 4).. three go up/three drop down - meaning 'dead rubber' playoff between 3vs4 for div 2 means something!

Sorting out divisions could be done with average player squad rankings - lowest 8 start in top etc..

No, but you can have a (for example) 16 team league, have the inaugural draft, then split into 2 divisions.
But what happens with the draft the following year? The same problem arises.

Would become a bit messy, unless all 16 teams drafted together, rather than 8 and 8 in two drafts.

I think Spoils could add some value to KPD’s.

I think score assists, clearances and i50 should be considered if they would add value.

I like weighing towards KPF who are not as valuable in traditional cat scoring.
Spoils and 1%ers have always been my favourite stats. Shows you how hard players work that little edge.

I’m very traditional with these games so my strong preference is to stick with the usual scoring system, but happy to go with what the majority wants.
There's a lot of us in here from the 2 main leagues pinned at the top. Then there's a few from some old leagues we had. I think you'll find we will want more categories. It will I think end up that way if it can be done on a free version. Though I'm happy to pay up.

I am struggling to see how it will work keeper format. Who gets pick #1 - bottom of division 2? Also, with so many keepers, if you start bad you will likely stay bad for a long time which means people will jump off and leave zombie teams.

Works for a redraft format though.

I agree. In theory love it. But the reality is it would be loads of off-line work.

I more want a league with added categories

No. Just did. Are you in for the normal league?. Pro/rel a fantastic idea but as flaps mentioned could be a head ache. Would be perfect if the app supported 2 divisions lol

The app supports fixture customisation as a paid thing and it’s not ready yet so I dunno if it is what you are after.

Also I've suggested maximum 14 teams. What are others thoughts?

Or go to 16 with reduced squads and lineups like tenderwarrior suggested
I'm happy either way. 14 teams has worked out well in the other leagues, but 16 gives the opportunity for promotion / relegation, if not this year but in future years. I don't think we'd need to reduce list sizes though from 44 as the real comp has 18 teams @ 44, so there would still be a minimum of 88 players in the free agency pool.
You're right though, it would be a paid feature if it is supported at this stage.

I'm happy with 14 or 16 teams though and strongly support increased categories to give more value to forwards and defenders. If payment is needed, I'm ok with that too.

There are options. We just need to decide on a system and stick with it.

Perhaps the order is determined by points for.

Assuming 2 leagues of 8, perhaps we look into a lottery system for all teams that missed finals.

Keeper teams that start bad can turn things around and it doesn’t have to take long. Often they start bad by design, because they’ve drafted young. Smart trading, good drafting, and a bit of luck can change fortunes very quickly.
