Its a big suprise but you cant help but be excited about it.Terry Wallace must rate him very highly. He was always going to get in earlier than the other first yearers due to his body size.

What has Gilbee done wrong. He has done something everytime he has been on.Feel for Dimma too if he had been left on against Freo he would have had a BOG.I stick up for Eagleton sometimes but I would rather him in the reserves than Dimma.

Both Dimma and Gilbee deserve to feel pretty annoyed Eagle is still there and they are not. Am happy with the inclusions though.

Essendon have made 5 changes. That is a lot of guys to have in that didn't play at this level the week before. We should win.

Went and seen werribee last week McGuiness can take a good mark in a pack situation and has a good left foot it will help compliment our foward line. Mc Mahon played well also and has been putting his body on the line more also his posession use is better.Sam power isnt far away his hand/eye co-ordination is quick and awareness around him is excellent.Crossy is pushing again with heaps of possesions.Penny and Robbo are starting to find touch too.The senior players had better stay on there toes cos the boards are flying off the door from the werribee guys

I hope both get a reasonable amount of game time!

Its hard to imagine why Wallace would suddenly bring in Mcguiness so out of the blue if he didnt have some sort of plans for him in this weeks game.I think Mcmahon is capable of breaking games open in short bursts already and would love to see him come on for quick bursts and cut the opposition to ribbons with his pace and elusiveness.I can honestly say that Mcmahon has more "footy" pace than anyone I have seen.Once he gets a bit of strength through his hips its hard to see many people being able to tackle him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Plough plays Saunders, Bamdy and McGuiness up forward with Grant in the backline, if he does play which I am confident he will. And how Eagle is there while Gilbee isn't is ridiculous

Agreed. I cant see what can be acclomplished by leaving Eagleton in the side.

Don't you recall, LY?? He's going to be the next Craig Bradley. Any week now. If we drop him, it may just be the week that he turns into Craig.

PS: Sarcasm not really intended. I don't mind Nathan.

Getting back to the original thread, Macca did about all a youngster can do on debut. Made the most of his chances and showcased his skills. Will receive a lot more attention next week like Georgiades did all those years ago.
( did he remind anyone else of Georgiades or was it just me ? )

Not really. Must just be you. :)

Seriously they are/were very different players. Macca is much more robust.

Mcguiness seems to have come from nowhere...has he been playing well for weeks?

His debut was really promising. I loved the way he kept leading, he seemed to read the play very well.

Is he a forward? is he still growing? what sort of position does he normally play?

and the way the senior players swamped him when he kicked his first goal was really touching. The team spirit seems very good at the moment.

Macca has been playing well for the bees all year. The club actually wanted to play him earlier in teh year but got a bit injured, so they said they'd give him a month!! He has Granty's starting out number too....

He was asked to kick 2 goals and anything more was a bonus, he had five shots at goal!! Great game from the kid!
