Geelong drop just two games for the season and go on to win the Grand Final by a record 120 points against Sydney, whilst thrashing the Dogs and Pies in the other two finals. Ablett wins the Norm Smith by racking up an astonishing 50 possessions in the Grand Final, Ablett and Selwood tie for the Brownlow, Geelong set a record 10 all Australians, and kick the highest ever AFL/VFL score against Richmond. To top it off, Gazza signs a 3 year deal with Geelong after the Grand Final.
On the other hand, Adelaide and Richmond both go winless and tie for the spoon, drawing in their Round 7 clash.
