On 6PR they've said the club hasn't ruled out legal action.

Can't blame them for lodging an official protest, but legal action would drag on and take away too much focus from next week. Wait for the results of the protest with the AFL and move on as quickly as possible.

I doubt any legal action from freo would take much focus away from the game in regards to the players and coaches. It would all be officials surely.

Doubt legal action would do much good anyway, common sense isn't exactly legal precedent.

The AFL will investigate and deem the Bloke that installed the siren had brought the game into disrepute and fine him $20,000. ;)

Your CEO was on Melbourne radio and refused to comment on legal action, but said they will take it as far necessary.

Hope you do. Take the AFL down! :thumbsu: This is a ridiculous situation.

Save your money to pay out Connolly's contract.

Legal action will just be a case of throwing good money after bad.

Hard as it is to cop, cut your losses and use it as motivation for the rest of the season. It creates a beautiful us and against them scenario that your coach (whoever that is or will be) can bring up at every 3/4 time address.

Not really what Cameron Schwab is saying atm on 6PR.

Yes but don't forget that Perth is 3 hours behind.

Plus it is still 1996.

Schwabb is on 6PR and wont rule out legal action...his exact words were

"Freo will look into the AFLs eyes and ask do you think in the spiril of the game Justice prevailed...." if not straight awnser given....legal action will be taken....

Freo should do what ever it takes to have the point reversed. The AFL should be acting ASAP, but I have a aweful feeling the VFL are at work. Let's now find out of they can act like a professional organisation.

That umpire was a disgrace - did he not realise why the Freo players were celebrating & St Kilda players were looking dispondent. Further, he could have easily have reversed the point when being told of his mistake ... but no, we need to be bloody minded. Should not umpire again IMO.

What a joke. I feel for you Freo supporters.

Our clubs been the whipping boys for 11 years now, both on and off the field. We need to take this as far as possible even if there is little chance of success in the courts, just to let the football world know that we're not going to take any more crap.

Adelaide should hand their points back to Melbourne.

Mike Peabrain in the H/S says the result should stand. It happened in the 60s and the result is recorded as a draw.I agree with McGoodwin beyond that.

100% agree. We can't let them give us the shaft yet again, here is a chance to get in a few licks of our own.

Are you going to take legal action against your player who was streaming out of defence with 40 odd seconds to go when you still had a 7 point lead. After all if he had done his job & found a target you would have won.

Oh I forgot; that would require you hold your own players responsible for your results, not the umpires, again.

Yes, we played poorly in the last minutes. This has no bearing on the topic at hand, we were still ahead when the siren went.

Doesn't matter when the siren went, it only matters when the controlling umpire HEARS IT AND STOPS THE GAME.

It's in the rule book.

You need to read the current rule book properly mate.

10.4.1 The timekeeper shall sound the siren to signal the end of a quarter until the field umpire acknowledges that the siren has been heard and brings play to an end.

This did not happen. The siren did not sound until the goose put his arm in the air, it only sounded for a couple of seconds.

What signal did the umpire who stopped the game actually hear? And if he didn't actually hear one, why did he stop the game when he did?

Sack the MAGGOT and fine him $20,000 for bringing the game into disrepute.

But don't give FREO the points, it only leaves the Tiges 1 win out of 6th place!!!!!!!!
