His height is perfect imo. Its the KGs that let him down.

Most 200cm KPF arent as athletic in agility stakes catergory as the 194 to 197 types.

Yeah I'm fine with 196cm as well but if he had a final growth spurt which took him up to 198cm I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm not sure why there's so much hang-wringing aver him being 84kg - it's a perfectly acceptable weight for a 196cm kid who has literally just turned 18 and hasn't yet filled out or been through a dedicated weights program to develop an AFL-standard physique.

Between the two of those things you can easily see him stacking on at least another 10 kgs without too much trouble and that would put him in the sweet spot for KPF's.

He looks skinny pulling on that jumper. Doesn't back himself to kick long at goal and always passes off in the highlights around 50 meters. The longer shots I saw him take he missed. The marks he took were not against opposition. I think we will be waiting a long time to see him trialed at AFL level.

First shot on goal early on in the NT Thunder highlights video he nailed comfortably from 50m.

Ben Reid was only around the 82kg mark when drafted.

He was listed as being 20kg heavier in the latter stages of his career.

And then his body collapsed under the weight!

I think if there’s hand-wringing it should be over his limited or inconsistent impact on games. However if he was consistently impacting games, he wouldn’t have been there at #31.

At least he’s not as slow as molasses like McLarty.

I think the one thing that we'll continue to keep forgetting is that the Victorian boys have missed their top age season of footy. It's something I'm trying to keep in mind especially when it comes to the taller prospects.

Hoping they get a callow or baldwin down to play train and take after that.
We’d be bonkers not to have Callow come and train with us over the summer to see first hand if he has what it takes, but I can almost guarantee we won’t. It would make way too much sense.

Yes dont see an issue of him beefing up so long as he puts in the work in the gym.

Seemingly over the years dekka has picked a few players who are near allergic to weights.

Yeah the club had him listed at 3.06 which is slow but draft profiles have him down for 2.92 so quick for height.

Judging by the headline, it's probably not worth getting around the paywall on this one. My bet is junior coach says he's a great kid with great scope for develpment and is confident he'll be a player.

Thilthorpe 201cm 100kg
Cox 199cm 82kg
Reid 202cm 82kg

It's interesting that Callow might have been judged as a man playing among boys and his performances deemed not dominant enough with the physical advantage he possessed and yet Thilthorpe is another who is also far more physically advanced than most of his peers and he still went pick 2.

The most dominant key forward of this season was a big gorilla playing out of the goal square in Hawkins who was listed at 97kg when drafted.

Callow might well not be good enough but I'd rather he be given a chance to fail than no chance at all because of a few extra kilos and it would have been an interesting experiment to take both McMahon and Callow and see which type of key forward prospect came out on top.
