Does anyone think anything will be able to beat gold edition in this one. She loves the straight, has trialled well a few days back (gave swick a bath) and wfa suits her.

No one in this race is anywhere as good as Miss Andretti and while GE has been beaten convincingly by her she should account for this field.

Apache Cat, Magnus should fill the placings but Ticklish may be able to just hang on over the 1000.

Will be keen to observe how Miss Finland goes hope she puts in a big one, as she did first up last time in

Happy to lay Apache Cat.

not one horse it has beaten left in this country in it's last two first up wins would be under 33/1(and the one it did beat that would be under 33/1 I would lay until the cows come home if it was still in the country and in this race.);)

GE should win by lengths, and I'm thinking of taking Grand Duels for a place, at its current form it probably has Swick, Stanzout and Miss Finland covered over the 1000 down the straight so only needs to get passed one of Magnus or the Cat.

Should gold edition be allowed to lead and carve out those sectionals she will be hard to run down.. my smokie Bel mer down the outside Newitt has been on fire of late and might tip em out..

D.Hayes loves miss finland more than his real mrs I love seeing a trainer come back for more after stuffin up last prep.. it's not a stayer lost the zip to sprint and couldnt possible when first up.. LAY LAY LAY

anyone heard on how Haradsun is travelling OS!!

So while it appears that Gold Edition is better then the others, Miss Finland is the big unknown factor.
Hayes and Williams have been spruiking her for a long time, surely she is absolute A class to warrant that.
Worth a dip at those good odds, if she wins she will be odds on every start after that.

I remember the hayes camp talking her up last prep as well and she still got beat by a quality horse at what would be closer to her favourtie distance than this trip.

I still reckon Goldy is better over 1200. Due to the high cruising speed it's an extra 200m to break their hearts.
Last 2 over 1000m for her have been a close win 0.8L to Royal Asscher i think it was, and a loss to Here De Angels.
Apache for me.

magnus- for some unknown reason i reckon he will win!! he is proven at the track and go's well fresh. you have to remember this is his last preparation, so dont forget he will be 110%. they will be doing everything they can do to enhance his stud profile

  1. magnus
  2. gold edition
  3. eskaw (roughie)

Were any of these down the straight? I fully agree with you that she is best over 1200m IMO, but her record at flem is very very handy and i think that will more than counteract the 1000m. She did run a 21sec last 400m in her trial during the week, pretty hard to run past her if she continues like that

I'm with you here Fullta.
This race last year at the Valley was one of his career best runs. 1st up he sat outside the leader worked pretty hard & only Miss Andretti was good enough to get pass him.
As you state they will be looking to capture one of the big Autumn sprints, (& hoping Wilander continues to win) for stud value.

Grand Duels has rated very well and right up to these in its last 2 starts.

Backing it the place as Goldie going to be too short, too hard to beat.

I've been on Grand Duels its last 2 starts and will b chucking it in a duet with Goldie.
Is stepping upto WFA and has to give her a coupla kilos but at the odds too tempting to leave out.

Have Playwright going into Goldie.
