Mr Magill said Mr Partridge claims he was approached by a group of men as he stood at a taxi rank outside the Toowong Towers, not far from the Royal Exchange Hotel, when the AFL identity was heard to say: "a wheelchair ******, you beauty.''
Mr Partridge, in his statement to police, said the player, who was in the company of suspectedly drunken mates, then tipped him out of his chair and boarded his taxi as it arrived.
Mr Magill said when Mr Partridge tried to protest that the cab was for him, the men allegedly threw food -- specifically kebabs -- at him and left him lying on the ground.

Well...this is just great.

Not great to hear ... Wonder who it was?

If the report is accurate, then the player involved in assaulting a wheelchair bound member of the public should be delisted immediately. I really don't give a rat's who it is. Again, if the reported conduct of the other players allegedly involved is found to be accurate, then they should also be sanctioned. Loss of senior games and "volunteering" time to work with people who are not able bodied would be appropriate. I hate this stuff.

Yep. I agree with this.

I'm hoping at this stage that the allegations are not true but it doesn't look good.

I find this amazing. Surely not said by one of our own. I thought we had a "Dickheads Excluded" policy at our club.

I believe drinking alcohol reveals a persons true beliefs so if accurate I would like this person to ge a serious penalty along the lines of a fine ~$10k and 100 hours community service.

Sigh. I honestly thought the culture in the club was better than this. I don't know if de-listing is the right path but perhaps standing them up in front of a crowd of the disabled and angry and disappointed Lions fans where we each walk up to him and individually tell him he's a dickhead. Might be a start.

Follow it up with a punch in the guts from every member of the 2001-03 premiership teams. We could get Mal Michael and Chris Scott to test out his shoulder.

Concerns me that the article says high profile. Wouldn't have thought any of our high profile guys would have it in them. If true get rid of him and whoever else stood by while it went on.

Wallsy?

"High profile" is a very subjective term - unless it was Brown or Black (and I strong doubt that it would've been), I don't think any of our players classify as "high profile". So take that bit with a grain of salt.

Daniel Rich has told B105 that he was there on Sunday night with other players but did not witness or hear of any of the events which have been alleged to have transpired.

Seems like we're all in furious agreement about this one.

If everything in that article is correct, then the player involved should be delisted. Not fined, not suspended, just delisted.

Normally I don't care what players get up to in their private lives but tipping a disabled person out of their wheelchair to get a taxi is a pretty severe form of assault.

You would think if the victim of the alleged attack wanted a quick, efficient resolution you'd go to the club first and not the media...

If it's true, he can talk to whoever he pleases.

Whoever it is before being delisted needs to go 12 rounds in a boxing ring with one hand tied behind their back against either with Browny or Barry Hall. Absolutely disgusting.
