He is extremely talented but a bit of a flog.Chad Wingard on the cheap. Think he can be a weapon in a great side.
Don’t shoot me.
Also, hasn't he been injured a fair bit?

Not ALL the rumours. Weren't there reports we could afford to chase another FA this year?By all the rumours we couldn't afford him...
We might be able to afford him.By all the rumours we couldn't afford him...
Barnett is my pick if Keeler is gone already.
No,.... we have a NO knob-jockey policy.....Chad Wingard on the cheap. Think he can be a weapon in a great side.

Don’t shoot me.
Agree. But what is our specific area of need?
Don't know why essendon would want him instead of playing guys lone Reid and zerk thatcher.
It would indicate they don't think they're up to it...at least for 2 years.
The difference with Dow is he is contracted for another year (he quietly resigned for 1 year a couple months back) unlike Samo who was uncontracted and could have walked for nothing.
If other teams try low ball us with any trade offer for Dow as he is contracted we can just reject the offer and keep him to his contract, albeit we risk losing him for nothing at the end of next year.
That’s said if he was to be traded at the end of this year I reckon the only offers we’d get would be a 3rd round draft pick such is his current standing in the game.
PS: Young didn’t play in last years Grand Final.

I'm like most - can't quite work out why Dow hasn't played more. I looked at his highlights from the Collingwood game just to check:
13 of his 21 disposals are shown and they're all really well chosen options and well executed as far as I can see. However, he had 6 clangers which are not shown. 5 clearances and 6 tackles is pretty good. I think he was named in the best in TheAge.
Was only given 60% game time so 21 disposals is on track for a 26-28 pos game on normal game time. Was surprised he got dropped the next week.
I've seen Pominoz put forward a few theories around him not handballing from stoppages enough in the VFL but I don't really buy that. He's not surrounded by Walsh/Cripps/Hewett/Cerra in the VFL so of course he's going to have to resort to a quick kick out of the pack more often.
I think it must have something to do with his inability to limit the damage the opposition midfield does. That Collingwood game was pretty farcical at times with the pies mids streaming straight out of stoppages running forward which hasn't happened in any other game this year. Not that this is all Dow's fault of course - this is just my best guess as to the part of his game keeping he's out of favour. That and the clangers.

Really strange...Um wtf Tom Williamson has signed for North's VFL side and will play for them this weekend.
What's that about? Seems a bit strange strange to me that he'd 'step away' from our club and VFL team, only to sign for North a few weeks later.
I thought it was something that would stop him playing footy altogether. This makes it seem more like an issue between Willo and the club.
Strong evidence of the old FIOFO rule in play here....Really strange...
VFL R17 team: Former Carlton defender one of seven inclusions
Four senior players return, while an ex-Carlton defender will line up as a Roo for the first timewww.nmfc.com.au
We'll probably get to trial Pitto (main ruck) with TDK (forward, pinch hitting ruck).Really hoping McGovern can get back into the 22 soon and find some really good form. A massive missing piece of the puzzle back there in our side. A good example this week coming up against two good key forwards, you will likely get this in finals, this is where it really pays off to have a proper top line genuine third tall defender down there. Could say the same about Marchbank who is that sort of player, which one is the best? I haven't the foggiest, either of them drastically improves our side.
Williams is the other. We have a few who can come in and fill his role defensively but not both defensively and offensively. He's the one who gets off the chain from time to time with Saad and Docherty and helps us score from defence.
Take an attacking defender out and a quality rebounding third tall defender out you lose a bit in terms of defence but you lose a hell of a lot in terms of offence and scoring from defence.
Disappointing for Cuningham, hope he gets a few games in and looks forward to next season.
Pittonet back in the team asks a really dificult question. DeKoning, Pitonet and Silvagni are three looking to fill two spots IMO, or are they?
Owies appared to be best 22 and I get the impression Voss thinks the same, he's always good for a goal or two and excellent at feeding the forwards and being that linkup player. Martin has probably underperformed this season and probably for his career really. Constant injuries and niggles seem to be the issue there. Either always injured or follows up a great game with a poor game where he is probably sore. Be great to get him going.
