With all the talk of Marc Murphy, will he wont he, has anyone heard whether or not Luke Power has put pen to paper?

From what I have heard, Marc Murphy and Luke Power in Blues colours could be a possibility next year? If so, would he just walk and Brisbane get nothing for him.

Then again, maybe I am living under a rock and he has re-signed.

I read in the paper a while ago, that he was staying, no intentions of playing anywhere else, he loves it here.

I saw the same interview on Fox Footy, but I have to say it did not convince me. No intentions of playing anywhere else was mentioned, but if he feels the money is not right, he may claim that he was given no alternative.

His body language (along with a few mates) in the last month did not seem the same either.

Maybe I am way off the mark, and I hope I am, but something deep down does not seem right.

I don't think this guy plays for money only.He has a settled life up here.He does a lot of charity work with kids. You wouldn't htink the almighty dollar would be the decider for this bloke.

SOmetimes you have to trust their word, becuase you believe they are decent human beings and their word means something.I would be very veyr disapointed in Luke if he left.

We made a play for him 2 years ago, and he turned it down. It was a huge contract too! If he didn't want to play for us then, why would he now?

Not to mention that the whole team had bad body language in the last weeks of the season.

Yep, Lukey's as top a bloke as top blokes go. If he says he's going to stay that's good enough for me.

Two years ago Nick Stevens spent the entire season saying that he was close to signing and his preference was to stay with Port.

Having said that, I think Power will stay.

Lukey is a top bloke. From what I've heard of him in the media and seen of him at training you're spot on. Last time I went along he was chatting to a few people in the stands and really making they kids feel welcome.

Definitely hope he stays at the Lions and I'm pretty sure he will be. There was some talk in the Courier Mail a while back of him wanting to play footy with his brother Sam (who plays for the Doggies) but he said he loves it too much up here.

but has he signed a contract same as Aker, I dont think they have, last year it was reported that Caracella was close to signing a new contract and all of a sudden, he's gone.

Brisbane were in the middle of a dynasty two years ago. That's all over now so he might feel that he's done his duty to Brisbane and it's time to move on to secure his financial future.

That said I'd be very surprised if he does leave Brisbane.

I have not heard brown has put pen to paper, when they announce that, i will go along with it.. brown is probably being targeted strongly by at least 10 clubs.. I cant see him leaving considering he went F/S

You might be waiting a while for an announcment - the club has a current policy on not commenting on player contracts. Any news of that nature usually comes from the player or the player manager.

If I was to take any players from our club at their word in would be these two. Both very genuine.

how bout the dogs help u in keeping Luke? If use get sam power u will hav luk for the rest hav his career.

Maybe look at something like Sam Power to Brisbane, Daniel Merrett and Western Bulldogs Pick 11 to Carlton and Brendan Fevola to the Bulldogs

Originally posted by a carlton supporter but if this is wat it takes to keep luke woul use go for it?

Na, a promising KPP for a promising midfielder, not worth it.

Seeing as it's a done deal with L.Power, it's a mute point I guess.

If Luke has signed a three year contract, then he'll be 28 going on 29 by the time he's out of contract. That's pretty much getting him for his whole career.
