A nice little project for pies fans

I'll be doing much more work on it, but for now it contains game replays from the current 2012 season, replays will be updated after every game.

The replays work on all pc's as well as idevices etc iphones/ipads.

Very good idea. I know there's another site out there where it has full replays and you can download them but that doesn't support Ipods/Ipads or whatever. So yeah, good idea mate.

Yeah i know of that site, i designed this with a HTML5 player as well as a flash one so no problems with viewing on an iphone / ipad. this'll be a collingwood exclusive too.

I think its an excellent idea. I'd use it this year as there is a good chance i'll miss some games with other commitments. I know there are a few overseas Pies fans that would also find it pretty handy.

Does the AFL allow sites to show replays?

Yeah the replays come from AFL's servers themselves, i'm just backlinking to them off my server. I'm sure if they didn't want them to be shown they wouldn't be there

At the moment i'm using my server with a subdomain to one of my old purchased domains. Which i think has until august until it expires. If the site turns out any decent and people actually use it i'll most likely be getting a premium domain e.g piesreplays.com.au or something similar

I think you should also post news articles leading up to that game, so for e.g. last week, you'd have the news articles relating to our loss to Carlton, Mick vs Eddie, rumour players against Bucks etc. This would make it easier, in the offseason, to relive the 2012 season again.

I'd have to say they're a bit clearer, they're in a higher quality format.

Past games is definately on the 'to do in the future' list. I'm focusing on 2012 for now and maybe if this hits off during the year ill do a COMPLETE redesign and have magpie news, articles, opposition analysis, teams, interactive stuff, videos, season match replays, classic matches & past seasons.

The possibilities are endless i just need two things. Time & Money.

Years and years of lurking the internet my good friend.

Actually i learnt a bit of html and css in my spare time ages ago, and learned about flash embedding when i was working on *cough* streaming websites *cough*

I've managed heaps of online forums so i basically know cPanel inside & out, and had to RTFM lots of times, that helps

- The CENTRAL Hub For all things Collingwood!

The domain will be magpiecentral.com.au when i can rake up some cash. For now it's just magpiecentral.co.cc - which is nice too i guess.

(psst, don't expect to go there and find anything yet... everything is on my sneaky testing website.... sssh.)

It won't be easy to do it all, but i'll get there. And hopefully if anyone has anything to contribute they can do so

i have no technical knowledge but with the growth of tablets, its now the obvious next step.

so this is still a website thing, rather than via an app ?

Still a website as everyone will be able to access it from all devices.

@Tradedraft, It's easier for me to have it on my personal site (for maybe a few more days) while i'm working on the inner workings on it rather then having people clogging up the page and claiming it's an unfinished product

I've been working on a better design, and have all the nab cup games up atm, i may add placeholders to the things i'm going to add, and when i'm done with the afl season games i'll launch the site.

HTML and CSS can be intresting. Though I have a very Small Knowlege of it. Did it in TAFE.

Hmm, the videos are hosted by the afl as it would be illegal to do otherwise, look i'll do you a favor and hop on my london virtual private network in a sec and see if it works.

Hey yeah mate, i tried it on a uk proxy and vpn. Connections are allowed & You'll be able to watch as normal.

Awesome, thanks mate. I know that on the AFL site, I'm unable to watch the games because it then goes to another site where I have to pay but at least it works. And yeah, I should have gone to bed early but oh well. At least when I woke up, I saw the result and am now going to be walking the London streets wearing my Collingwood Guernsey!
