All the players outside of those born in the US have pretty much defected to the US. A lot of them have played one or two games at either international/u19s level and left, probably because they didn’t seeing themselves representing their birth nation again.

Unmukt Chand is a U19 WC winning captain. That squad also had Vihari and fellow defectee and MLC number 1 draft pick, Harmeet Singh.

The ICC is so much more fluid than FIFA when it comes to country representation.

You're right it is more fluid but not because of these guys playing as locals. Piedt, Anderson, Plunkett, Chand are only locals for the purpose of this tournament. Similar to how Besart Berisha or Andy Keogh played as locals in the A-League once they got Australian citizenship. The difference is they could never play for the Socceroos having played full internationals for other countries.

Plunkett for example can't play for the USA yet as he hasn't been a resident for long enough. I think Piedt and Anderson are now eligible. Someone like Brody Couch could play anytime if he wanted to as his mother is American and he hasn't played for a full member yet.
