i was a huge fan of Blight as a player and a coach. he was a brilliant and creative player and i think he's probably a little bit under-rated and deserves to mentioned as one of the greats. as a coach he was innovative, successful and did it his way. when he first started commentating i used to find him refreshing and interesting.

however - he has to go as a commentator.

- doesn't understand the current rules of the game and obviously refuses to take the time to learn them.
- continually criticises umpires after they have made correct decisions.
- clearly doesn't enjoy the current game. in fact he seems disgusted by it (if you don't like the game anymore, why would you want to commentate on it? go and play golf or something)

i felt that his inaccuracy and negativity detracted from a great game. matthew lloyd attempted to explain the rules of the modern game to him a couple of times and point out to him that he was totally wrong and his response was to just sigh in disgust. really, who needs this? do yourself a favour mal and go away.

(*sorry, i just realised i put this in the wrong area. can someone move it to 4th estate. thx)

He was a left field freak footballer, a left field freak coach and is a left field freak commentator.

"Normal" doesn't satisfy everyone. HTFU.

not only did i stick this in the wrong section but there's already a thread on the same subject in 4th estate saying pretty much the same thing. mods please delete this thread, i'll go and get some glasses.
