The domestic one day competition kicks off in a couple of weeks, to be played entirely in NSW this time around. Hurtsville, Bankstown, North Sydney and Rooty Hill will host the round robin competition in which each side will play once against the opposing states. That means 23 games in 21 days. The table topper will qualify directly to the final, while second and third will play off in an elimination final.

A new concept added this season is the introduction of a "Cricket Australia XI" side which will be composed of fringe state players, rookies and national performance squad members. This should hopefully expose some younger talent that might otherwise be stuck on the bench. Each state will select a 15 man squad, with the CA XI to be selected after the main states have confirmed their selections.

Stoinis
White
Handscomb
Wade (+)
Christian
Hastings
Pattinson (Aus?)
Boland
Holland

Hussey, Ahmed, Short, ???

Apparently Jon Wells will be named in the Warrior's squad, good on him. Hopefully the sea change gives him a new lease on his career. Couldn't be any worse than Bossito surely?

There's a difference between a just-turned 22 year old with 3 FC matches and a 27 year old averaging 22 after 35 FC matches. Wells' white ball stuff has been quite good in recent times though.

Bostitio, is a young kid who has everything in front of him to become a seriously good cricketer. Jon Wells so far has proven to be one thing- mediocre. Hopefully he can turn it around, but Will has the tools to make it in a big way.

Batting line-up looks terribly fragile. But then most of the comps they've won recently have been because of their bowlers. No change there really. And they've got a very good attack if they can all stay fit.
When doesn't the batting line-up look potentially prone to a trade mark WA collapse?

Last shield season I was pretty confident in the top order.
Very true. If Bancroft, Voges and Marsh brothers get places in the Aus team, that top and middle order may not be pretty.
