It was definitely Mark Of The Year. I had an excellent view of it too, sitting at the Punt Road end of the ground.:):thumbsu:

So u have seen every other contender? One of your ageing stars finally manages to get their feet off the ground and it's mark of the year. It was mark of the day, I'll give u that.

Mark of the day!

Have a look at the picture!

Lloyd has jumped over players to get to the pack.
His knees are shoulder height. See Mcphee who is standing up.
He has his ankles on Lonergan's head!
He takes a clean grab.
He takes a spectacluar fall (must be a dive :D )
He finishes it off with a goal in a tight game!

Yeah, I see what you mean, just average. Taken plenty of those in my time! (in my dreams)

At least he will deserve the car this time unlike his back heel goal of the year that my Grandma could have kicked.

Didnt realise Lloydy chose the goal of the year.

Not his fault they chose him. Was still a great goal though, for the enginuity and skill, not one those typical "pull it out of your arse from the boundary line" goals we see week in week out.

Bosley are peeved that you had to watch that disgraceful game today and fell over the line against Carlton or that the lunatic Bridman may be finished?

That was a hangar in a pack - the hang time was huge.

And in response to his crappy goty last year - if it was sooooo easy why has it not happened since? I'm sure there have been numerous occasions where it could have been executed - but no one has? hmmmmm

Lloyd would have some nerve accepting the prize after incredulously winning goal of the year last season for a backheel from 2 metres out (something u see in under-10s soccer week in, week out).

Then why is Lloyd's backheel still the only one example of it happening in the AFL? Surely if it was that easy we would see it happening 'week in, week out' in the AFL? It was ingenious, he knew exacly where the goals were and managed to think up something as outrageous as backheeling whilst under pressure in a split second. I hope he gets MOTY as well, his hands are 12 feet off the ground.

the reason why, is most people standing 2 m in front of goal manage to kick goals in other ways.

yes, his goal last year was quick thinking. but no, it wasn't impressive. i have played about 3 social games of aussie rules in my life and i've kicked a backheel goal .

but that mark today - now THAT was impressive. i wouldn't say easily MOTY. but certainly up there. good to see from lloydy.

While facing the other way, with the ball behind them? Please explain these other ways.

Congratulations on your obviously epic football skills, but i fail to see how that is relevant at all,
Im sure the pressure on you whilst you backheeled a goal was akin to what Lloyd was under.

it absolutely rocked - it was like the definition of a hanger

i want everyone who was writing him off a few weeks back to come out and say - i was wrong. :D it was good to see him so happy on Before the Game

there were alot of highlights from that game i wish i coulda watched it
