McLeod doesn't feel like past players are welcome at the Crows

No, but deciding to raise the issue now when it could have been raised 6 months ago when the review was being completed of the footy department just seems to be a bit hmmmm. If you can't see an agenda here well hmmmm.

PS : I don't put any footy player on a pedestal.
From what I gather he did raise it 6 months ago

To be honest, it's NOT core business of the club. We're supporting a cause that a club great is passionate about, and giving back to our community.

But funding probably should be withdrawn in times like these.
Most clubs have programs for indigenous peoples. Sport has proven a great way to engage a lot of the kids.

Part of the conditions for securing government funding for Adelaides proposal to move to a new location and build new clubrooms included providing programs for woman and indigenous Australians.

So if you had to decide between this program and the footy department in these times, which would you choose?

For some reason I thought it was Fed government money that was cut off. Not sure if the club cut off whatever they were putting in as well?

This- and adding to that the club's repeated comments about him being 'temperamental', and the undertones haven't been hard to spot.

Having said that, the most spectacular thing is that he's called them out as liars- they say he's never raised concerns, he directly rebuffs that.

once again illustration the truism about the difference between the club and the people who run it at any given moment

Sacked in favour of giving Thommo his job.

Not a bad upgrade for the AFLW, all things considered, seeing Thommo got to a higher level then McLeod in the coaching world (AFAIK, McLeod never was a development coach+ at an AFL level).

That said, it's a bit of a downgrade for Thommo (seeing AFLW is probably a dead-end at this very moment, though it might not be in 5-10 years), unless we're having Thommo also involved in our mens development coaching as well.

Though, and I might be completely mis-remembering this, didn't something involving our indigenous programs get impacted by covid, which initially forced McLeod out?

Why would Thommo take a step down?

Oh right because he's probably a shit coach.

But he can join the list of other shit coaches that get a job at the AFC because they used to play for us.

bloody unbelievable.

Can't believe people are claiming the boys club is suddenly magically fixed despite absolutely nothing changing.

I'm saying it's a step UP for Thommo, going from no job the AFLW assistant.

I think P&L may have also benefited from this decision.

I'm not claiming the boys club is magically fixed with this appointment.

However, there is some merit behind it at least, after all, one of those two has held a coaching position before (unless McLeod did post retirement, but I don't remember that at all, nor could I find anything on a quick google search). The role goes from being a total boys club appointment to mostly a boys club appointment.

The only difference here is the name of the person coaching is causing a reaction whereas really, this move is just a *shrug* and move on case.
